Very interesting. Personally I can't wait for Google's service to come out.

That's awesome. It's good to see that Paypal is scared too. I can't wait.

I'm more interested in the relationship with GBuy and the Google's investment in FON - I've read some comments suggesting that Google is positioning itself to be the preferred vendor for payments for FON (as an alien or whatever FON is calling folks that aren't providing shared broadband). So for Google the cash they coughed up is merely a marketing cost - very clever, IMO>

And I still think it should be called GMoney.

Too bad FON (here) hadn't copyrighted his acronym - he'd be rich ;)

Good, finally some comparable competition. Maybe Paypal will try to improve its customer service to compete ) Paypal will no longer be a monopoly.

I'm failing to see any reason why I would ever want to join FON...

For someone who travels alot (at their own expense) FON may make some sense...

I suppose.. Though I can't see driving around looking for a "Foner" or sitting in someone's yard trying to get access. Airport, hotel, and public cafe hotspots make a lot more sense to me. shrug

FON seems crap to me. The only percieved beneifit would be lower cost to connect since the infrastructure is maintained by those who join up. It's not Google's free ad-based wi-fi access that's going on in San Francisco.

What makes me mad is T-Mobile hotspots..

how you sure that google customer service will be better than paypal so far for 2 years using paypal ebay i have 0 Problems but hey i dont know what you people doing and besides only one time i contacted their customer service and it was good
