? about video files

I have been having problems with certain types of divx/xvid files. Most torrents i dl work fine but sometimes some wont work at all but i know the content is on them and my friend can dl the same file and it works on his. Is it possible the codes i have. The file that isnt working is 24.s05e01.hdtv.xvid-xor.[VTV] and a example of one that works is 24.502.hdtv-lol.[VTV] is this because the first one is xvid-xor is that a different type of file. and if so how can i get it to work all it does is freeze whatever player i try to use to run the file.

Have you downloaded the latest xvid codec? If not, google koepi xvid and download the latest complied codec.

It works like a charm.
