Any suggestions on a notebook

Just looking for some suggestions on a notebook to get, i Plan on getting a dell, looking to spend around 1,000 a bit more if needed, just need to to be fast, have about 80 gigs wireless conecction and run power point, just lookin for some suggestions thanks.

i cant stand buying prebuilt computers. they come with so much crap you dont need. are you going to reformat it as soon as you get it?

Yup, next time I get a new computer that's the first thing I would do....my dad hasn't touched anything on his computer since he bought it from HP and it runs like shite.

If I wanted an Ibook prob woulda got one, Ive had dells for years now none broke but i guess this one will cause Ur gonna feel bad for me? Regardless yea ill reformat it when I get it, Its not for me I personally like desktops its for my mother so was just heling her get a notebook for herself.

any laptop is going to be fine with those needs in mind. powerpoint isn't all that intensive. you could always get a dell and dual boot to ubuntu even ;)
IBM/Lonovo are well built but usually over a grand. HP is starting to make theirs better, but dells are just not very well made and their customer service is horrible! hor-ib-ble! bad as in not good. that's been my experience anyway and I'm in IT where I have to deal with these things despite my using a Mac at home...
