I tried taking a screen capture of a paused video frame last night, but each time I took the screenshot, it just kept showing up as a black space, no matter what I tried.
I used the Print Screen button as well as SnagIt 7.5 and got the same result. I was using WinAmp to play the video.
Is there a programme I can use that will take screenshots of frozen frames from video? Or does anyone know wtf I'm doing wrong?

If you play it in Windows Media Player and hit CTRL-I it will grab it and that blank thing won't happen...

lol I always used to spell it like that, moved here, was told it was wrong, found it wasn't and now I've started again. D

Are you trying to capture the rest of the desktop or do you simply want to capture what's in the video?

Yeah, I tried capturing the video image while playing on Windows media player, and it would just come out black, im checking the ctrl+I now.

to screen capture a vid you need to go to preferences>performance(tab), and change the video acceleration to the lowest setting. Thats just an easy trick I've picked up..

o the weirdest thign is that i just tried to do this.. i wanted a wallpaper from teh movie armageddon and was wondering why paint wouldn't give me a picture... thanks +kma for wofle

Doesn't work on all configurations (I forget what makes it work), but take a screenshot with print screen, paste it in paint or something, then keep playing the movie.
