ok so i went to sell a textbook at around noon today and i drove past a kfc. in front were a bunch of people with signs saying "kfc scalds chucken alive" and something that had to do with arms and legs. what i thought was funny was the guy dressed in a chicken costume. sorry the quality is so bad but i was driving at like 50mph and used my razr. the drive-thru was packed but you cant see it that well because a sign is in the way. so my question is, do people really think protests like this make a difference? i will never understand people.

What do you mean if making protests liket his make a difference? Of course they do. If they can gather research and spread their word intelligently, they will get support.

It's better than sitting on their asses letting the companies do whatever they please, don't you think?

actually PETA gave out a free anti- KFC DVD

i got it for free cause i read it had Pam anderson in it

unfortunatly no boobies, but it did show some gruesome ass shit, i did not intend on seeing

KFC like chops of the chickens beaks when they are born, and cuts off wings, and talons. I dunno they basically masacare the chciken so they can cram more in a confined area till they are killed.

I wont be eating KFC anymore...wait i never did anyways. There are just better places to get fried chicken.

try Chicken express tracem, they are much better IMO

I love how people can put everything on KFC, but really, any place that gets mass amounts of any living animal, isnt going to be pretty. They are made to be food, of course they arent going to die in a nice way. Think of how a lion eats something it eats, it tears it apart in the worst way. We are just civilized animals, does it really matter how the animals die? I say, fuck PETA.

I already know where this thread is going. Anyone else?

Yes, KFC isnt the only place that is doing what they are doing, but Peta can only target so many places at a time. Once they complete the task of compromise with one company, they move on to another. Hpefully slowly taking them all down...

how funny would it be if those protestors kids went in kfc and got some chicken twisters, then came out to see their dad in a chicken suit.

shamash

04-02-2006 14:47:16

or vice versa, the kids in the chicken suit's parents come out and say to come home for dinner

They [i96e9e4232c]ARE[/i96e9e4232c] complaining about how they die. That is all that was on those signs. The chicken are bred to die just like calfs are locked in cages in the dark to make veal. I too say fuck PETA. I do not care about how anything dies as the end result is what it is supposed to be. It does not matter, just like disinfecting the arm before getting the lethal injection.

i am all for treating animals as humanely as possible before eating them, but i have zero respect for an organization harasses people, including children, to get their point across. i would go crazy if someone gave my kid a bloody bag of 'bones'.

they also protested at an upscale event where mothers, wearing fur coats, were walking around with their kids. apparently, the kids were given something telling them to keep their pets away from mommy and daddy because they might try to wear them.

surely those 7 year olds deserved to be scared to death because they bought their mothers $2,000 coats! shame on them!

^^ i agree, thats not cool. but you cant hate an organization because of a few idiot people...

I was vegetarian for three years. I feel like all of the research and arguments from that period are flashing before my eyes in the form of threads on FIPG this past week.

Animals don't know any better as to what life they live and what life they don't live.

There is a reason humans are higher up on the food chains.

i think i read somewhere, only humans and one other animal actually have souls........dont quote me, if anyone else has researched this, id like to be corrected.

I read that too. I think it was in a Tom Clancy book.

Just because an animal is going to be eaten or killed, doesn't mean it has to be treated like absolulte shite before it is killed.

There are countries in the world where they eat animals that we consider pets such as cats and dogs. Chances are you would feel differently if you saw Cats and Dogs being treated like these chickens are treated, but what's the difference? They're both going to be killed and eaten anyway, so it doesn't really matter how they are treated does it? roll
