So im doing laptops.freepay, and have searched for the answer, but i need some advice on which of the two to get. I use the computer for word processing and internet, pretty much it. No gaming or graphic editing at all. Which of the two, the VAIO or the iBook would be a better catch for me. Thanks for the help.

They'll both handle word processing and internet flawlessly. Do you prefer Macs or PCs? That should decide it for ya right there.

iBook is great, especially if you aren't doing gaming or anything.

ibook for sure
i love it to death, i use it more than my super gaming powerful pc of doom.
actually my pc has been turned off for days.

the dell laptops IMO are freaking thick.

i know this has nothign to do with what laptop you want.

but from what i've seen, almost all of the windows laptops i've seen are really thick and ugly.

the iBook looks nice and is thin.

The HP has the best specs of the PC laptops, no?

That's what I'm after so far.

Hopefully. Don't know that yet. Will probably have bugs with the new ones. So for now... as I said. 8)

I really hated my ibook, it was sleak and nice looking and all. However i was prohibited to what I could DL, and use on it.

Then you gotta deal with converting word files to be able to read them on the PC.

I dunno i'd say unless you have a love for macs, and have used them before, you might be upset with the ibook

I have a Powerbook and I don't know what you mean about converting Word files to make them viewable on a PC. I have Office for Mac and Office on my Windows desktop and I use my USB drive to transfer Word files back and forth with no problem.

ibook. if you are worried about a processor you can just get OpenOffice.org. it reads .docurl==http://=http:///url files just fine. i have office.mac 2004 though.

I'd definitely go with the VAIO. It's slightly more expensive than the iBook.

A few reasons

-They just work, plug them in and go, not a ton of shit to hook up like PCs.

-No spyware

-Virtually no viruses

theirs only 1 virus for osx and it was patched in a system update
everything just works

but regarding software and gaming, how is it better that way..... (i'm thinking about doing a minimac site) D

Software is fine, Macs are better for vido editing and Photoshop, InDesign, etc.

If you are a hardcore gamer, then I wouldn't get a Mac, there are some games for Mac, but not a ton.

They aren't for gaming. They are for everything else though. I got one because they are the standard in both the art and music industry, both of which I like to mess with. More music though.
