They are saying the planes were really far apart but just look close. I think so too but its kinda crazy. I made the GIF out of the 6 pictures taken...

Even so, planes should not be in such a close proximity to each other. Pilots must keep a certain horizontal and vertical leeway when flying.

Jetwash only happens right before take-off when the pilot throws the thrusters into full-power. The problem here is that the pilot has an enormous "blind-spot" similar to a car, except the pilot can only see what's ahead of him. The tower can also warn the planes if they are too close also.

There is nothing new in that snopes.com that wasn't in the article I linked. Of course they are going to say they aren't as close as they seem. Its strange because the DHL is closer but looks a lot smaller...
