I'm just curious how many of you participate in snowsports, it seems like most of the threads about them die fast.

I went skiing once up in Michigan..hard to ski or snowboard in Indiana though.

Michigan doesn't compare to here. You really have to try Colorado to decide if you like it or not.

Well...I don't think I'll be travelling out to Colorado any time soon. I know some people who have been to Vail and they said it's awesome.
i snowboard 3-4 times a week

I fell on my head 3 times and almost felt like I broke my left shoulder. They didn't have my boot size (15) so I had to wear a 13 which killed my right ankle.

yea man....before i got the hang of it, i fell on my ass at least ten times, down the kiddy slope oops .....on the lift they make you take one of your bindings out and leave one in, thats what killed my ankle, just leaving the board hanging on my foot like that all the way up the lift....i almost got down a jump too.....so close to landing it but then i had to go....i thought i did good for a first timer....

Yeah I felt for my first time I did pretty well. I would have made it all the way down the medium skill hill, without falling, if some asshat didn't cut me off.

u do know when u go up the lift you can rest your board on top of your free boot so your other foot doesn't take the whole weight of the board.

i've only gone once..and my friend who goes like all the time said that for a first timer i did really good. a lot better than my other friends who kept falling like every 30 sec or so. my biggest downside is i'm overdonfident...not knowing when to slow down or how far is too close to those nice little trees they put next to the trails wink 8) roll

Boarding is a pain to learn, but once you get it, you love it.
That's been my experience. There was this one point where I didn't think it was worth it to board and now it's what I do every week.
