not the cert test, but a test for school (actually 2, 70 questions each) I need to submit before the morning?

Well in case you do, i'll throw out some practice questions

A. True
B. False

A. ISDN can provide voice and video capabilities
B. A single ISDN line can provide 6 Mbps to a subscriber

I love johnjimjones Avatar, and you can just go to ask.com and find all your answers there, word for word

Well I went to several classes where we have some farily large labs to work with. If you can't afford such classes you can always go to a bookstore and pick up some literature. You'll also need some hands on with the routers at some point, so some boson router sims would help you there.

Just whatever you do, don't use any study guide that has a 'guarantee' that you will pass the exam because those are essentially cheater guides and while they may help you obtain a peice of paper, they won't give you the true knowledge you'd require to perform the job.

That is correct! except for the second one needed 3 answers. Like I said it wasn't the cert test, it was the final for my class.

You definately need some routers and switches to play with if you want to learn the material covered by the CCNA. You can get the 2500 series routers very cheap on ebay[=http//cgi.ebay.com/Cisco-2501-2500-Series-Dual-Serial-Port-Router_W0QQitemZ5855949683QQcategoryZ28033QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]ebay

Pick up a book, we are using the Sybex one, I always check my used bookstore for up to date Cert books.

About half the book is concepts of data routing, subnetting, and WAN, and the other half is actual command line stuff to configure the router.

Any recommendations you can give me on learning material (ie books) would be appreciated.

Is there an index on what certifications are for what? For example CCNA is certification for network associates and A+ is for.....

Wolfeman

24-01-2006 14:31:58

A+ is a certification by a company named CompTIA.
http//www.comptia.org/

A+ is basic hardware and basic OS cert. Its 2 tests to get A+ certification. There are other certs they offer like Security+ and Linux+ which I plan to get as well.

MCSE is Microsoft certification. Its 6 tests to get MCSE certified but you are a MCP (MS Certified Professional) after you pass 1.

CCNA is Cisco cert. so its all about networking.
