Has anyone tried this before? I was interested in it and I would like to give it a go. Anyone know of any nice/less than 100 dollar GPS systems? the website is http//www.geocaching.com/ tell me what you think about it. I was amazed at how many were around my neighborhood.

I guess I'm the only other person to think this is kinda cool. If you find a cheap GPS system, PM me.

YES! I [i5ab0447a4d]love[/i5ab0447a4d] geocaching. It is teriffic fun (if you are into treasure hunt type things) and like to add a little technology twist on it.

I really enjoy it. It is something unique to do while you are just around and have nothing to do, or when you are on vacation. My GPS also doubles for my wardriving rig D

I have never done geocaching but I think it would be fun to do on a camping trip or something. Remember to contribute to the caches if you start to find them.

It might be the most fun in a city if you can get a signal.

Wow, didn't think anyone else would be into this on this forum! I've done some local geocaching. Turns out, my town has a lot of them. It's pretty fun, but I only do it in the summertime when I'm bored. I have the eTrex Legend, got from Walmart for like $100 something.

My brother received one of these cheaper $100 GPS Units, and we quickly, set out to the local park next to the river looking for the hidden treasure. The GPS kept telling us to head closer and closer to this house. Seemed kind of awkward because it went from public property to private property. We kept looking around by the house for about 20 minutes and then realized we had to be doing something wrong.

We went back to our house and realized my brother had entered in the wrong coordinates. Wow, were we embarrassed.

We put them back in the correct way and soon enouph found the "treasure." It was really a lot of fun. Some of the ones we tried to find were either moved or stolen or we just couldn't find them.

I suggest you give it a try.

Yeah, the thing about geocaching is like it's a secret society. They could be hiding these things right under your nose and you could be passing it everyday and not know it. Someone hid a microcache in the stairwell that I climb everyday at school for i.e.
