Cyberpower = best desktop on pcs.
pcs.freepay=10 refs
laptops.freepay=20 refs
The iBook is a MAC. It might be better to ask which of the non-MAC laptops is best.
I'd say the HP was, from a quick glance.

macs don't break or get infected with spyware or virii or come with an uncanny amounts of vendor-supplied software to make your computer slow as hell. mac os x is the os of the gods.
and don't give me that 'macs aren't compatible with ANYTHING' bullshit. every piece of hardware i own is compatible with my mac mini... except for my quasi-nice video card. the only thing you lack when you own a mac is games. and that's why i own four computers, a gaming rig, a laptop, a dell, and mac mini. the dell and mac mini both run mac os x natively and my laptop runs linux. my gaming rig obviously runs windows. i've been a lifelong windows user, but mac os x has shown me the light.
i hate when people think microsoft is the best shit ever.
my twopence.

okay besides all the spyware and viruses stuff, what about the OS makes it better? i'm gunna start researching now. maybe i'll get the ibook off of OC(it's alot better than the one on freepay and their 18 refs) and get the hp one off the freepay.

i'm one of them microsoft fanboys! ) actually i just like the crazy customization and the standard-ness of it all. mac's are a bit too simple for me and bit too iono.. just rubs me wrong. and besides, all i do with my comp is game so i don't think i would ever conisder a mac. and cyberpower has some pretty shiesty customer service. i've called them for a friend and hell, anyone who pays for their extended coverage is a true dumb pos

Gotta agree about CP customer service, but their PCs are built with a lot of retail components.
That's why I recommend people to get it. It's more easy to upgrade.

mac os x is based on unix, which has been around for quite a long time and is probably the most secure operating system around.
the main thing about mac os x that catches anyone's attention is how easy it is to use.... if you're used to windows it might take a little getting used to. it's not "backwards" like everybody claims it is, the UI elements are just in different spots.
anyone can hack into a windows machine.... the "administrator" account means nothing. so anyone is free to manipulate any file on your computer in any way. however, because of linux/unix/mac os x's structure of the filesystem, that threat is gone.
linux is superior to windows, but only because it's secure. there are huge flaws to linux....especially driver problems. give linux a few years and i'm sure some distro will come out that will be sexy and won't break if you try to install a new wireless card. ubuntu's currently, in my opinion, the best/easiest to use distro.
so yeah... if you still have doubts about whether mac os x is for you, head on down to the closest apple store and mess around on one. everyone i know who has ever used my computer fell in love with it and half of them bought a mac of their own.
if you can't get to an apple store, go to www.apple.com and click mac os x at the top right to get more info and watch some videos with exposé in action... i don't even consider it eye candy, i use it almost every time i grab my mouse (i have "show all windows" assigned to my middle mouse button (li!GASP!li a middle mouse click on mac! how profound!)
when you interact with mac os x, it just feels sturdy. to me, windows feels flimsy and bendy... like when you try to bend a paperclip into a straight wire. i dont know... P
also... a side note about gaming on the mac... Apple is currently in a transition phase from powerpc architecture to intel architecture. because of this switch, technologies like Cedega will be able to be used on a mac, and you will be able to run 95% of all windows games at full speed on a mac within the near future.
or you could get both laptops!
--edit--
Tholek is right about CP computers though... they don't use proprietary equipment and make a pretty solid desktop computer. don't know about their lappies though.

CP laptops are probably rebrands from MSI or some other OEM company.
Be glad we don't have to deal with those. )
