I havent had any problems with them so far. But most people dont like to store their money in paypal. Do they close accounts and take ur money for stupid reasons or something? Anyone with a bad experience with them?

Paypal has very limited seller protection. If you sell on eBay or any other site, and use paypal as a form of receiving payments, you will pretty much get no help against fraud.

No, you'll be fine. But if you sell on eBay they don't protect sellers barley at all. A user can claim anything and get their money back and you can't do shit about it. I know Admin got screwed too but I don't know the exact scenario. Something about this site being a ponzi scam or something...

Can anyone list reasons why they would freeze accounts?

I sold something and this moron filed a bogus claim and I presented all this evidence against his argument... And he still won. |

Yeah I've been lucky enough not to get screwed by Paypal (yet) but I still don't like using them because of their crazy fees. Between Paypal fees and eBay fees it can be difficult to profit on eBay. Problem is sellers can't really avoid using it because it's such a great payment method for buyers ?

Can't wait til Google comes up with a Paypal-like system D

Wolfeman

Google Wallets but eBay won't make it easy to use it on their site since they own PayPal...

one word FEES, u sell on item on ebay, they take fees off your profit! you get paid, then paypal takes fees off your profit! cool cycle.

22-01-2006 16:04:12

I don't really mind the fees.

22-01-2006 16:31:09

Paypal sucks ass, I lost $500 because they don't protect sellers. But it's not like you have much of a choice when selling on ebay.

22-01-2006 18:46:53

paypal has been kind to me since i joined them.... but the fees can really hurt when you recieve large ammounts of money using it. I dont even wanna think about the combined fees ive had to pay paypal.

kevxross

22-01-2006 19:01:20

Yes, receiving large payments through Paypal is always painful.

I know ebay won't make it easy to use Google Wallet, but I'm hoping enough sellers will pull together to only accept Google. And that Google will give buyers enough incentive to use their service. Remember the early days of ebay? They owned Bidpay and Paypal was a separate company. ...Nobody used Bidpay. The auction venue and the payment system simply should not be under the same roof and I hope it changes soon enough.

When is google wallet going to debut?

LucaBella

23-01-2006 00:39:36

as mentioned earlier, paypal really offers the seller No protection. they also hide some of their most important rules, because they don't care about the seller. They want to keep the buyers happy, and make the buyers feel like its the best, most safest site ever. Why? Buyers send the money that ebay takes their fees from. So they have to keep the buyers happy so they'll keep sending money, which keeps paypal in business.

That means they don't give a flying fuck about the sellers since paypal gets its fees from them whether they want them or not. Paypal sucks like a whore at prom. They structure the rules so that the scammers have all the power.

Get an item and don't like it, or you break it, or you lose it? File a claim and screw the seller! Get an item and decide you want to get your money back too? File a claim and screw the seller!! Bored and wanna make new friends? File a claim and screw the seller!!!

Goddamn you paypal.

i dislike Paypal because they get away with a lot of things because they arent a bank

consequently they have very few rules about witholding people's money or with charges/fees

one problem i have had is that i had a second bank account that i rarely use linked to my paypal account. it was backed with a credit card. yet paypal kept trying to withdraw money from the acct even though it should have went to the credit card. i got hit with about $120 in charges from my bank because of paypal.

at the same time, paypal is a convenient service.
