I want to download a movie from alt.binaries.movies.divx
How do I do this?

do you have any of the subscriptions/programs that you need? If not, it will be an expensive proposition for jsut that one movie.

i got newsleecher and added alt.binaries.whatever as a server and hit connect but it stayed at connecting..

Are you trying to get 'that' movie? You have to pay to have access to a server, unles your ISP runs newsservers.

yes, you need a newsgroups server. For instance, I have comcast, and their news server is news.comcast.net...

Usually the Newsgroups provided by your ISP are shit, but if you pay for NewHosting.com (I use it) it's $15 per month, unlimited download capacity and as fast as your ISP can handle.
The 3 main things you need to download from Newsgroups are a Usenet provider (newshosting.com($15 per month), usenetserver.com($15 per month, 3 day free trial), giganews.com ($25 per month, 3 day free trial)), a newsreader (NewsLeecher, NewsRover) and QuickPAR, to repair any broken files when you're done downloading.

Newsbin Pro owns when used in conjunction with alt.binaries.nl (beta.binaries.nl).
Its weird, Comcast says they cap my limit at 2GB/month, but I have downloaded way more than that this month and it still works. shrug

and also, i use comcast, apparently to get around that you just log in with different emails

and idk how to download with outlook express

Try this as your news server in news leecher
newsgroups.comcast.net
then add alt.binaries.[whatever] as the group, not server

In NewsLeecher, go to Groups, Subscribed Groups, Add Group Manually.
Then in the Tab bar click on Active Groups, then check the box next to the group, right click on it and hit Activate, then Update.
See if that works shrug
Or tell me the movie and I'll find you an .NZBurl==http://=http:///url file for it and send it to you, then you can download it.

That being said, I am beginning to hate going to the movies more and more... Once you get a nice screen, it's much more pleasant watching at home. I know I'm not the only one.

cause i'll buy the dvd but i just want the screenplay for fun.
btw i forgot that i have the soundtrack, and rufus wainwright is just as good as usual.

when i saw rent, there was a giant white like blur on part of the screen, dots that kept moving around..
i got pissed like 15 minutes in and we went into another show of it which was starting in 10 minutes when we left, so it was all good...

then i realized i was only downloading the 1st cd and frowned, and went for the second one
when i changed from 2dls/once to 10dls/once and the speed went up 4 times though, it didnt matter, and will now only take 20 more minutes for twice as many files.
u shoulda just gotten the nzb screw headers
