Leaving the FREEBIE scene

This has been a fun year since the beginning of 2005 when I learned about this freebie crap. During my time with freebies, I received a countless amount of them and coded the widely (hopefully) used GreenReporter.

However, I feel it's the time to move on. My time spent earning money in high yield programs, a regular job (like Intel that I quit at the end of December), and the stock market are taking my time now, and the profit is far greater with the same effort. I'm also back to UC Davis with 27 units, so even less time for other stuff.

I might do an occasional site, and I'm still wrapping up PS3.FreePay and games.pay-zero, but overall, I'm done.

I'm still checking the board from time to time, but the volume of my posts is going to be minimal.

I really enjoyed staying here, thanks to Admin, FON, TSJ, and other great people (fuck you, sweed; whatsappening wood!)

P.S. www.new-ipod.com is going to stay alive till Mar 06 to host GreenReporter, after which I'm not sure if I'll renew it or not.

I had totally quit for like 2 months and then started doing a couple Freepay sites and now I'm totally invested in the DIY sites. Its like crack man, I hope you kick it )

thanks all of you, but my decision is serious. unless i get involved with a conga like i did with nano and ps3, the effort stopped being worth it a while ago. if it weren't for NOCRs, i'd still be here, but i'm very tired of the constant headaches related to NOCRs and cheaters.

there's money to be made out there, i have about $40K invested, I think i'm off to a good start. )

actually, i think the problem is he's using PerlApp from the ActiveState PDK and it doesn't support compiling mac binaries. also, assuming he's just using Tk and not Win32 libraries for the gui; if he released the source it could probably run on a mac.

Incidentally... I'm coding my own version of GR. Not sure what I will call it.

I'm going to do it in PHP/MySQL with CuRL libs. As long as you have a webhost, it'll work.

GR eats cpu on my poor little laptop (Still working towards that 1.7 M)

I'm probably going to have a little advertising with the freepay sites kind of like how yourfreeli sites. Probably code up some dynamic pictures like used in my sig.

Only thing is... not sure how many people have PHP/MySQL access vs Normal Windows. But it'll do what I want it to, and if anyone else can get use out of it, they can have it.

Just so all of you know...I REALLY miss ICFreePod. As such, I gave it a little "push" with Gratis last week. This should get the ball rolling...but its up to the guy who maintains their webhost and Drakier (the author) to take it from here.

I coded a script a while ago to fetch referral status from various networks. Its quite easy using php/mysql and the HTTP_Client PEAR class...

What I would liloveli out of the SC is all the regex stuff. Right now that's the biggest time consumer, trying to figure out what works on each site.

In case some of you still don't know, new-ipod.com and GR have been bought by A4F (gogoWes).

Even though I'm out of the freebie scene, I spent an hour or so today to bring [b335129b105]GreenReporter back into business. Problems related to Freepay and OC site changes have been fixed and GreenReporter v1.2 is now released![/b335129b105]

I tried leaving the scene last December. I got to up until February and then I started working on Zeropricetags sites.
After Zeropricetags I started working on YGF sites and then Trainn sites, and now I own a site lol.
So much for quitting...
