I'm thinking he used an emulator and replayed parts over and over until he got it. I heard you can also use slow motion in emulated games... probably helped him somehow.
16 stars huh... impossible (without cheating).

He went through a lot of walls. He took some rabbit and put carried it and was able to get through this door and a lot of other stuff.
The rabbit in the caves? So he glitched his way through the game, basically.

I don't care how he got to the end, but he did it under 20 minutes! I never beat that game even though I played it for sooo long...

yeah that is the coolest video game thing ive ever seen the guy could jump through every level perfect what he did on the first boss stage to get the 8 coins that was tight
like they said glitches aside you could not beat that time, it was perfect
and this looked much harder than mario 3 in 11 minutes

yeah i watched this video last week, VERY cool if you ever played this game check it out.
But I looked into it, they call it "tool-assisted videos" or some nonsense. There is a community of them (of course) and yeah they can rerecord as many times as they need to do get things perfect. So then the other members critque, like "you should have done a triple jump here instead of a slide jump, that would have saved .4 seconds" and then someone else redoes it and makes their own etc. They have them for all sorts of different games. I watched the one for the original zelda, but wasn't nearly as exciting as super mario 64.
But it's better to watch the video first not knowing any of that heh.

Watch the video, he did little shortcuts like jumping up multiple objects, I wouldn't call that cheating.

I have yet to beat mario 64 with 104 stars (probably will never turn on my 64 again, but not the point) and I just watched some bastard go through all of it in 16 minutes.. makes me wonder.... not to mention that last stage I was on at one point, just didnt beat bowser for some reason, he made it see so easy....

You do a front one and really quickly press back and you look straight and you just keep pressing B I think it is and it keeps doing it.

thats a really cheap trick to get up those stairs. lol, but wow this guy is crazy. I mean who has the time to do this? or figure out all these glitches?
