Everything was fine with my PSP i got from freepay until a couple days ago it decided not to read discs anymore... My brother was playing GTA liberty city stories when it decided to freeze up on him. He tried resetting it but when it got to the main page it froze again. However, when the UMD isn't in and you turn it on it doesn't freeze... It will only freeze when there is a UMD in it. I tried it with the sample disc and it still doesnt load, it gets frozen. It will play music, view photos, go on to the web. Everything but play games! I hate it. any ideas of what i can do?

well atleast im not the only one then. but the problem is is that i have no receipt and im wondering how i can get a new one/return it.

Well, I think you can return it to a local Walmart and they will let you get a totally new one.

Either that or directly back to Sony. But unless you have a proof of purchase good luck with Sony.

Just got off the phone with Sony and they said that they would replace it free of charge if I sent it to them IF i had a receipt. and charge me 125 dollars if I didn't..... well, wtf? Any ideas to get around this, as im not paying 125 dollars.
Just go to walmart and tell thim you got it as a birthday gift. They'll take anything as long as it has a barcode on it (box). Well, that's what happened to me one time with a PS2 dvd remote. I didn't have the receipt anymore. I found it wasn't compatible with my PS2 and my brother thought he threw away the box with the barcode in it but then we found it and I got to exchange it for something equally priced.

When I got my free psp I went and tried to exchange it for the one that came with the gig stick and they told me they can't take any psp's without receipt and it was because of sony.

lol yeah, i was gonna try that tmmrw so ill see how it goes.
Well, make sure it's the same model #. I was at walmart last night and I saw a little warning sign that told walmart employees to take out the psp from the box and inspect it.
