Wondering if anyone has mIRC and wants to make a chatroom

Hey does anyone here have IRC? I do i can teach you how to us it if u get it.. But i am wondering if i make a chatroom for FIG on it like Anything4free will you guys use it? If soo i will surely make one because I use IRC alot for different things.. Soo let me know if you think this is a good or bad idea

Yes there is, but the nerds in the chatroom think they are all funny and what not and kick everyone that comes in.

umm there alot of bots in there if i am in the right room.. What do i need to type in and were? I am kinda of new to it..

Yeah, there already is a channel for it, but apparently everyone in there do not really like "new" people.

And also, for the record, it isn't everyone who doesn't like new people. It's a very few people who get annoyed and feel that since the IRC room isn't popular anymore that it is okay to ban them for very little reason other than being annoyed.

Ya, I'm always there. I know Cash4Cookies was in there for a few days a week or so ago until he met the same fate that all new people suffer when they visit.

i used to be in the irc chat till they banned me for a stupid reason i was like top 20 chatters using that stat thing

Yeah, the fig chatroom sucks. If it were more friendly, im sure more people would go in there, and have a better time. Its funny too, because I talked to a few randmon fig users after I was kicked, and all of them said they hated the irc room. If one thing needs to be changed, I say make the chatroom a little more friendly.

yea people used to call it the chatroom full of nazis

they kicked me for my isp which at the time i was staying in mexico and i could only get aol at the time

IAWTC.

I have been in the IRC room only a few times and when I was there I got the same rudeness or whatever from certain people that seemed to always be in the room. I talked to Fugger and ty, they were the ones that helped out and was cool. I think there needs to either be a new room created or some people that are setup as mods to setup some type of rules and kick/ban people that are causing people to not want to be there. I myself left because of the way that room went. Ill be 1st to volunteer myself if any mods for the room are needed....

Here's the thing about the chatroom. I idle in there pretty much 24/7, as do quite a few of my friends. There's a group of us there who have known each other for as long as 6-7 years. We kind of congregated on #freeipods, even though most of them are not part of FiPG administration. So when you join and get made fun of or kicked or whatever its just some old friends having a laugh at your expense, since you're a newbie. It's definitely not personal. The way that people communicate on IRC and forums is so inexplicably different that I suggest that you guys just stick to here or the forum chatroom if you really want to chat.

thats fine, but a suggestion could be, you guys move to a different channel, and you let #freeipods be for this site. Or maybe register freeipodguide or something, that way the members can chat on IRC, and not use the forum one.

Oh man... I'd pay to see the IRC channel brought back to life.
