Telemarketers stalking me

So a few months back I get some calls from weirdos who claim I purchased some lightbulbs with like a 10 year warranty blah blah blah. Then shortly afterwards I get these aggressive telemarketers calling in and demanding to speak to me. And now I get some pair of a woman and man calling me at 11AM and 7PM every day for the past two days saying they're from some LNG company or something and I was entered in some "dreams come true" sweepstakes and they call MY CELLPHONE for some reason.

Any way to just tell them to STFU and stop calling?

Not sure if you can get them to stop calling, but this thread has some ways to annoy them http//forum.freeipodguide.com/viewtopic.php?t=27976

You mean LG. Don't tell me you have a LG cell phone...

Oh yeah and they also block their number so I can't call back. This guy just called me right now and asked to speak to me, I said "hi" and then he hung up.

holy dude! I have the same problem. I get these annoying faxes everyday. But the thing is, I don't have a fax machine!

Well first I would add yourself to the National Do Not Call Registry [https//www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx]

After that if they continue to call after 31 days you can sue them and make $500 in most states.

However, as for the time being, I would consider telling them that you are on the Do Not Call Registry and you will report them if they continue to call.

Damn......that's for the states though.

Yay thanks. Well I'm really interested where these guys get my number from. I know for a fact that the only places I put my cellphone on was through like those DIY sites and stuff...

And I have a Sony Ericsson S710, not an LG phone =P and my carrier is Cingular.

Same here. I ask to speak to their supervisor and get all scared. I was hung up on once. Whenever telemarketers call, I ask to be removed from their call-list. I hear it's against the law if they don't. I don't really know if it is or not, but they don't ever call back. However, the only people that call are the automated messages so I can't tell them. Argh. No call list.

i get a call every single day, usually around 11AM. sometimes they hang up after 5 secs without having said anything, other times they ask for me by name and after i say this is she they hang up....no fuckin clue how to make them stop. 1 time i answered yelling at them to stop calling me but it was one of the 5 sec hangup calls -\

Their number sometimes doesn't come out. It marks as "Private" or "Unknown Caller."

And you can't li69 private or blocked phone numbers.

some companies use voIP phones to save money or something, but they are totally traceable, but get on that list and dont tell them then sue em... its probably some garage run outfit anyways, or proudly post this on your door...

Yeah I should sue them... that's the easiest new trick to free stuff.

Free-Money.com

1. Sign up for tons of DIY sites
2. Place your number on the National Do-Not-Call Registry
3. Sue all the companies for $500 each!
