Possible to return XBOX 360 to Best Buy?

Ok, I saw someone post this in my For Sale post.
Someone suggested returning my XBOX 360 premium to Best Buy, then I'd have about $400 to buy whatever I want in the store.
Is this possible? I didn't think Best Buy accepted ANYTHING without a receipt.

Ya, I'd say sell it on Ebay. But BestBuy accepts returns without a receipt, I returned StarWars BattleFront II for the PC and got store credit.

Nah, got it as a gift but my PC is too slow, and it takes up over 4gigs shock. I got the PS2 version instead and love it. D

like i said, i'm not a big gamer but my little bro is, so for christmas i got him a new video card that's nothin special but can at least keep up with some of the newer games out there. anyways, he also got the first bf, and that's actually a pretty good game. similar to battlefield 1942, but a lot better. i guess the sw bf2 improved on a lot of the gameplay, so i'd be interested in checking it out. how does it compare with battlefield 2, if you know?
are the ps2 and pc versions similar? i don't have a ps2 or anything like that ( i will soon... lol ), but i was wondering how u liked it and how it compares.

Also, as far as eBay goes, after eBay and PayPal fees I wouldn't really make that much and I don't know if it's worth the hassle.
I go to Best Buy for stuff all the time too, so it's something that would definitely get used.

BestBuy is wierd about returns. Sometimes they'll take it for store credit and sometimes they won't. It has to be sealed, thats for sure...

Ok, sweet.
When are the XBOX 360s expected to be readily available in stores?

Over the next month I bet you'll start to see stores catch up with stock. Christmas is over so now MS can start shipping now...

Ok, similar question.
I'll be getting an iBook from FreePay and a Mac Mini from IRC (once I finish the offers). Would it be possible to take both of these to an Apple Store (have my mom return one or something and me return the other) and get store credit, then buy a Powerbook? The cheapest Powerbook is $1499, which would be about the value of the Mac Mini (assuming it's the lowest model) and the iBook.

But it's not better than an Xbox 360. )
I hope I can get store credit when I get mine from freepay. I'll get some kickass speakers with the money.
I can sell it for you on ebay for free if you pay the fees, I have 57 feedback all positive. You stand to make alot more on ebay even with all the fees.

About returning your 360 to Best Buy, when I was there the day after Christmas their was a sign that said they would take back and 360 no questions asked. Don't know if anyone else saw this at theirs.

I work at best buy and at this time you can return basicly anything by saying that it was a gift with no receipt. You will have absolutely no trouble getting store credit for an xbox 360 or any sealed item for that matter.
