Ok, I've got iTunes on my computer and it plays mp3s fine, but when I try to connect my iPod to the computer it says there is trouble communicating and to reinstall iTunes.
Now, the first time I installed iTunes it stayed at the Quicktime installation for HOURS. I let it run over night, but it was still going through Quicktime installation--the progress bar kept filling up and starting over.
I really want to get this working so I don't have to keep going downstairs after copying music to my iPod as a USB drive, dragging it back over, and all that crap.
Any help that leads to iTunes fully working will get a +Karma.

Well I think the new iTunes on www.apple.com doesn't have Quicktime with it. So you can uninstall iTunes and download the new stuff without Quicktime.
Try that.

I just downloaded it last week. It contained quicktime.

Ok, downloaded that, but now I get this error
1607 Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime
What's that mean?
Are you running XP? That looks suspiciouslly like a Windows ME error.
A while back I got a virus that was fucking with any installations of new programs. Have you tried checking for viruses or something?

I run XP, and I scan for viruses every Sunday.
Where can I get this iPod plug-in for Winamp and does it have the ability to put album art and videos on my iPod too?

The plug-in is called ml-pod. http//www.mlipod.com/ Currently it does not support album art or videos. But it does allow you to move music from your ipod to computer. For me to not have to use itunes, the trade-off is worth it.

Ok, I will check this out and give you +Karma if I like it.
Does anyone else know what could be wrong with my iTunes installation?
