my brother needs a new case for his 40gb 4th generation ipod but can't seem to find one. He has alot of cosmetic damage on the screen and iskin put this sticky residue on it when it got smeared. Now that he totally chucked that away whats next for him? he doesn't go mountain biking or anything, just something casual taht will stop the screen from scratching anymore? and it slick?

same idea for my 60gb video ipod? suggestions?

their cases are $10 right now (at least mine was..)

it's really good quality and doesn't limit your iPod, you can still attach stuff to the top.

hmm, how about agent 18? i went on their official website but i don't have a credit card i can use atm, bummer. Invisible shield looks good but it is more expensive than agent 18, which people say are equal in protection and looks.

they left some kind of gooey residue on the screen, i have no idea what to get it to come off and i don't intend on paying money to clean the screen i payed money to protect.

i use lajo's skin. i dropped my ipod about 50 times while jogging and it works great still.

Well i ordered one a couple of days ago for my 30gb Video, ill give it a try when it arrives (probably wont be any time soon with the holidays etc) ill be sure to come back and let you know how it is )

got my speck case, its friggin awesome. definitely recommend it. i havent dropped it or anything to make sure but its a pretty unnoticeable case, as far as hard cases go. if anyone wants a black or pink tinted one...i dunt want em ;)

I was thinking of getting that before it came out, but it sucks that you can't just buy the clear one for $10. Where did you get yours?

For now I have a $10 lajo black silicone case which gathers too much dust and a HORI PSP screen protector cut for the screen.

not sure, btu i had an iskin for my 40gb and it fucked up the screen so i took it off, and it will collect lint for sure, so they'll all attract.

i have a 20GB 4G ipod and i cover it in a thin lajo rubbery case... it definitely protects it, but it really detracts from the ipod's shiny outer shell. also, because it's rubber, it makes it difficult to slide into my pockets... i don't know about anyone else but i find this to be a HUGE inconvenience.

i'm getting a free nano soon and i've been looking like hell for a hard case. i don't want a rubber case for the nano because of the previous 2 reasons and because rubber cases don't protect from compression of the ipod. i don't want to sit on my nano and reach in there to discover i snapped the damn thing in two.

so i found two candidates... the iSee, as mentioned by akalic earlier, and the Speck See-Thru[=http//www.speckproducts.com/nano-see-thru.html]Speck See-Thru case. I think i'm going to go with a see-thru case, since they don't really look ugly and they aren't bulky. plus, you get 3 (but pay $30)

the hard cases i've mentioned leave the click wheel open.. has anyone thought of a way to protect it? the only thing i can think of is cutting out a circle of packing tape )

I was doing the same thing... I wanted to buy a skin, but not if I didn't end up getting anything. Well, I got my nano friday, and I should get my video ipod as soon as next week, so it's time to start thinking about cases. What did you get, akalic?

I'm going to pick up a DLO jam jacket for my nano probably today. They look good, and I'm mostly worried about scratches, etc. I think they're rubbery though, so I don't know how much protection they provide when it comes to dropping it on ground. Anyone have any feelings one way or the other about these?

all i'm worried about is scratches...protecting it from falling or anything like that won't matter to me...and the invisible shield looks nice too!

edit btw..does anyone know the difference between the 1-piece and the 3-piece shields i linked to above^^^? they're the same price...but i'm wondering what the difference is and what they protect or don't protect? thanks
