OK, here's my problem... I have Windows ME (which doesn't support iTunes and is the newest version of Windows my computer can handle)which is a real bitch to find an iPod software for... atleast one that will support video transferring. I used Xplay, which also gave me the same problem. So after not being able to transfer videos with it I tracked down Anapod (though I still can't transfer album art).I can't properly dismount my iPod with either of the programs. If I right click on the system tray icon and click disconnect, it says Windows ME doesn't support quick disconnect, or something like that. It then tells me to right click on the safely remove hardware icon... I DON'T SEE that icon (when using Xplay, after clicking disconnect, it would do nothing at all and my iPod would stay mounted). The only thing I can do to disconnect is go to my computer, right click on removable drive E and click eject. When I do the Apple logo appears. I thought this was the proper way of doing it in my situation but I recently went to my brother's house to use iTunes on his computer and when ejecting properly from iTunes, the Apple logo doesn't appear. It goes straight to the menu, which leads me to believe when I was disconnecting the way I was, it was actually doing harm and wasn't dismounting properly. Someone help! Is it doing harm when I eject the removable disc or is there some way of finding the safely remove icon (for those who are familiar with Anapod)? Thank you.

Same thing w/ the thumbdrives. I always pull out my cruzer mini even though its not "properly ejected" and it doesn't get erased or anything.

With my experience of Macs, it sometimes erases data if you dont do Apple+E, but not in Windows, just pull it out.
