well i turned 18 an hour ago. i havent really thought about what i can actually do now that i am halfway legal (not really legal until im 21). here is what i have come up with
renew my license
register for the stupid army draft thing (will they know if i dont register?)
buy scratch-offs
buy a lotto ticket
go to clubs (not that i would)
buy porn
get a credit card
buy tobacco
is there anything else?

how will they know? what will happen if i dont? i already have a list of movies i have been wanting but couldnt find them on the internet. it will be weird going into the store though. i am sure the cashiers have seen people buy crazy shit though.

Yeah, I'm sure they've seen much weirder stuff than an 18 year old buying porn.
My ex worked at a grocery and she said that it's just another item if people buy condoms or lube or whatever, they all run together, so the cashier probably won't notice.
You have to register in 5 days and they have your birthdate on file, if you don't I think they just force you to come down and register.

Actually, at most video rental stores you have to be 21 to rent porn nowadays... just thought I'd share.

That doesn't make sense.

The SSS isn't going to track you down and force you to register, but you're going to want to do it, because otherwise you can't get a lot of governement benefits, like college grants/loans.

They 'forced' us to enroll way back in middle school/junior high. With any luck we'll stay away from forced war-type situations for another year or two.

I had to register with them when I applied for my Green Card. If I refused then they would have considered my application void. I was tempted to refuse, but my wife wasn't too happy about it. shrug
