more 360 news

i called up my local best buy and talked to a clerk.. he said other than this weekend, they arent getting anymore in until february.. that is when the next shipment will arrive. i asked when all the hype would die down and you wouldnt have to wait in line overnight for one and he said in a year.. not january or february 2006, december next year.. i find this hard to believe though because xbox would piss so many people off that people would buy ps3s instead.. but why arent they shipping until february? thats a crock of shit.. i know microsoft is dicking around with the 360s, but that pisses me off. you basically have no chance at getting one this weekend either because preorders are being filled first.. that goes for any store getting them in.. unless you preordered, you are fucked.

if best buy isnt getting any in until february, then i have lost all faith gratis will start shipping in january (or close to january.) this is going to be far worse than the psp shortages with gratis.. at least then they were easier to find in stores, now you cant find a 360 if your life depended on it and i have a feeling gratis cant either.. i know what jake said, unless gratis deals directly with microsoft, i find january hard to believe if this stupid craze keeps up.

ces is in a couple of weeks so m$ better get its shit together before sony throws out a release date for ps3.

Microsoft has said they are trying to do small shipments every week. There is no way that they would delay the shipments a year to try to increase hype about it. Also no way they would not be able to keep up manufacture supply.

i hate bill gates....he has enuf money...y he needa make us spend more on that shit on like ebay or sumthing i mean when he dies he guna give most his money to charity...yehhh...like 45 billion dollars..and he kids only get like 10 mill or sumthing around that area

like i said.. i find the next year thing hard to believe.. but what info has xbox given out that they are shipping more and more xboxs out each week? people have been saying this since release date that by christmas the hype should die down and they will be more easy to get.. yet from what i have seen, this shipment this weekend is the first since release date. i see people on other forums posting how some stores have like a couple in and some are lucky to find them at different stores across the usa. has anyone on here found one at like sams club, toys r us, or somewhere else as a special in-store bundle?

the toys'r'us i call before launch said they only had 2. and they were cores. amazon bought toys'r'us if im not mistaken so i am sure all of the amazon orders are getting filled first.

I dont believe M$ has given any info on next shipment date beyond the 18th... They only released the info on the 18th a couple of weeks after the 360 was released... Anyways... MS would only be digging a major hole for itself if it didnt release all of its supplies on a regular basis and delayed it for any idiotic reason..... I wouldnt trust that bestbuy guy, he has no clue what he's talking about..

OMG the guy at best buy totally told me that he heard that microsoft pre-ordered some more 360's from mars, but that they won't be here untill the next generation of consoles arive. Freepay said they would give us all ataris though for compensation.

I doubt that clerk knows what he's talking about...

well ms didnt give that info out, Best Buy gave it out...and yes ms has been shipping xboxes weekly i was fortunate enuff to see a xbox 2 weeks ago at toysrus but i didnt have enough money or a cc, so i rushed to my house to get some cash and when i was back well yea you know gone...

The manager at gamestop said if i MIGHT be able to get an xbox 360 in Feb. If i reserve now.... ( By then people won't be paying 1000$ for it. Ive given up on getting the 360 And im gonna DEFINETLY preorder 2 PS3s if thats even possible. Not sure where to preorder from though... ?

i was at a christmas party in a big building. that building has a very secretive softare company that i won't name. they won't talk about their work but they did tell me that a significant number of xbox 360 are being recalled.

I can't believe this is even being talked about. There is no way Microsoft doesn't have every single store well stocked by early Spring and by the time the PS3 rolls around they will make sure they are everywhere. I wonder if Halo3 will be released the same day as the PS3 like people were talking about confused2 confused2 confused2

i just cant believe they are doing such extreme shortages.. they are going to lose all the "christmas" buyers who were just going to buy the thing because its christmas.. the hardcore gamers and those that planned on getting the system months ago will get one regardless of when we can get our hands on it.. its the basic customers that they will lose out on. people that are looking for something to buy for their grandkids, kids, relatives, etc.. they arent going to get them and wont get them after christmas.

i understand the shortage supply and demand whole thing they do.. but they have created such shortages around the biggest shopping time of the year, that they are simply going to lose would-be customers.

They sold a lot of 360s and they are going to sell a lot more when they become available. You want your item to be the biggest talk of the holidays and MS did a great job in that. People will buy them even though they don't really want them because they know how hot they were. I don't question MS ability in making money...

i know they know money quite well.. but if i remember, werent the ps2s much easier to find by now after their launch? and xbox 1? it just seems as if they kinda rushed the launch for the holidays. there are very few available and many with major defects. they may have rushed the launch a bit.. but who knows?!

Some store, somewhere, has an XBox 360 sitting there. Un-noticed, un-sold, and collecting dust.

The "major defects" are not that major. Its like 3% which is pretty damn good. There is always problems with new systems. My first 2 PS2s stop reading discs after a month and my 3rd started having problems after about a year. My slim PS2 seems to be working great, but you can see my point. Its the price you pay for being an early adopter. I think some of the other bugs I've been hearing about are the game developers rushing to market like EA and Activison...

they are only creating a shortage for the holiday season. afterwards, there will be much less demand ...

I have had a chance to buy a 360 everyday this week at some online store, but they are always bundled with games I don't want. Actually target.com has a bundle that just won't sell so you could always buy it. It comes with a logitech surround sound, a 30in lc tv(crappy brand), the xbox360, like 1 extra controller, and 6 games(1 being halo 2)....this bundle comes to you at the low low price of $2200!!!

Anyone who can't find an xbox 360 isn't looking. The last 2 days circuitcity.com has had them for sale. Also amazon has had them for sale in the last 2 days. All these were the "pro" or "full" systems. Whatever they are actually called now. Anyway, if you are whining about there being no consoles, YOU JUST AREN'T LOOKING!!!!
