I never watched this show until recently. I downloaded all of season 1 and was very intrigued by the entire storyline. Think I watched the entire season in one night. It was very addicting. Something I'll refer to as visual crack. After completing season 1 I was a little bit upset on how they failed to explain things further. I said hey its just marketing if they give us all the answers now then no one will watch season 2. NP

I started to watch season 2 and became more and more frustrated. Whats the point of introducing new characters. Does it serve any purpose. Ya I know black dude knew about the missing film strip and there aware of the others. But come on. The only thing theyve done so far is shoot Shannon. Granted she wasnt the best character but right before she died they started to build her character and how she had troubled times because her stepmom juiced her. Was starting to feel some compassion for her. Next thing you know she dies.

My question is. Where is this show going? Rather than explain some of the existing nuances and plotlines theyve gone ahead and introduced new ones. I mean how stupid is the typing the numbers into the computer thing. Coulnt the original programmers just have ran a program where the numbers would be entered automatically without any human action. Why is Hugo so willing to go along with entering the numbers if he KNOWS their cursed.

Also Why the hell is everyone so relaxed on the island. Youd think they try to do more to be rescued. But no. In all honesty I dont think the writers know whats going on. I believe they were forced to introduce these new characters due to network execs pressuring them for more confusion and episodes. I mean they can keep doing this forever and not have to answer any questions. I know why not introduce aliens on the island. I mean its destiny god damn it. They can then spend 3-4 episodes explaining how the aliens experienced troubled time but there destiny led them to an island.

I think they are doing a good job.....but nothing close to as good as season 1.

Okay question?

Everyone on the island has a very goodreason(destiny) on why they were brought to the island.
John has his whole disability thing.
Kate has the murder thing.
Sawyer has his own problems.
Jin and sun were bourght to the island to repair their marriage.
Mike and Walt were there to become more close.
Ana Lucia was brought over to help her cope with her itcy trigger finger story.
Sayid was brought over because of the people he tortured.
Claire - help her raise and care for her child.
Druggie - help him cope(?) with his drug habit

Why are these 3 on the island then?

New black dude - Sure he has a story on why he was brought to the island. Probabbly revealed in the next few episodes.

Rose and her husband - Seem like two very nice people who dont really have a horrific past story that brought them to the island. Do they die since they have no reason to be on the island?

Also how have the others so convincingly dominated the island. They havent had human contact since forever. They dont have guns. Why not round up all the people and go hunt them down. I mean even rebels have to have practice right. Think there all just a little too scared of the others. Yet they all seem to have an attitude with whoever has a gun. I mean they got like 5 guns and all them rifles from the hatch. Even the Navy Seals are fucked if they dont have weapons against a bunch of 14 year olds with guns. And yet they keep running into the jungle w/o weapons just becuase they see some kind of ghost image.

I totally disagree. This year got to a very slow start but is moving along fine now. The only thing they haven't addressed is the big ass monster but it looks like its coming back after the holiday break. The "Others" have been in contact but obviously they are freaky jungle people that aren't easy to track so a bunch of normal people (desides Locke) aren't going to be able to hunt them down.

The thing with this show is people are pissed when the story doesn't give them answers but the show would get pretty lame if every episode nicely wrapped up a storyline. Its a long-term investment with J.J. Abrams shows. Alias was the same way. They talked about this ancient dude named Rambaldi for 4 seasons without giving any real answers to what he is up to. After they ended that storyline, the show sucks ass now.

Also, http//www.lost-forum.com/ is full of people that love Lost so much its retarded. They find every single clue and mistake in every single episode. They have no lives, its funny. Like the symbol on the shark. It was 2 seconds and so freaking hard to see and they found it right away...

They are dragging it out to make as much money as possible. Simple as that.

Its a TV show, of course they are trying to drag it out. Its the point of a TV show, to have a bunch of seasons. I got some more breaking news
-Water is wet
-Fire is hot
-Ice is cold...

This is teriffic. I love when people moan about things like this. Could you imagine reading a book and knowing how it would end mid-through the book? Or watch the first hour of a movie and go "Oh that makes sense! I don't have to watch the other hour now!"

If you want to complain that you don't know the full story when you are only part of the way through it, that's fine but be realistic. If you had all the characters introduced after the first episode and everything was solved in the second episode, you wouldn't have a third, let alone a second season.

Ya that site is hilarious. Read one post by some guy who claimed he had connected the numbers to the connect four game the mental guy was playing and how it has to do something with constellations. People have way to much free time.

Are we midway through the book or half way through the movie?

The problem I have is that there doesnt appear to be an end. ABC knows there sitting on a gold mine and want it to run as long as possible. If I knew what point the story was at Id feel better. But introducing new characters after 28 episodes is a little bit drastic. Like the networks are forcing the wrtiters to introduce new scenes. I mean a movie is pretty much run to script with small minor imrovisations. Seems as though the people on Lost are presented with a new script every week. I bet the actors dont even know whats happening with their character. There best guess can be well its likely I survive since ABC runs my contract through next year.

Its getting close to not watching it again and thats my major complaint. If stories remain this vague and unexplainitive then this show will fail. Stop the new characters no one cares at this point. You think I really cared why ANA shot Shannon. They didnt have to say anything and I wouldve been okay with it. Tell me shes a cop later and I wouldve figured it out. If you want new characters fine. Stop all these what happened in the past.

ya I dont have to watch it if I dont like but I still have the right to say I dont like the direction the show is headed.
