My Dad is an industrial sales representative (He sells industrial equiptment to companies like Coors, Excel energy ect...) And he just returned from a sales meeting where a bunch of people that he does buisness with discuss strategy ect... Anyway, one guy there sold electronic parts and has over 200 different products of his in the Xbox 360 (Or some # like that, remember; these are really tiny pieces) He said that microsoft is recalling the units (News to my Dad because he has been on the road for a while) And he also said that they have over 1/2 a million units stored in warehouses, and they are creating this "Shortage" (Weather he meant Microsoft, or the Stores, I don't know)

They just started selling in Japan, and response has been extremely lackluster.

Just waiting for the PS3. Hopefully there is enough of a shortage for that bitch to make me rich. Pre-order like ten of them.

Its also not against the law to release your products slowly. Its a smart move. People love to go after whats hard to get and if their were 360s at every BB, no one would be talking about them on FIPG anymore. Expect to not find PS3s either...

That was an interesting read. You probably made it up or your dad is misinformed. roll Think about it, they had people swarm at stores on the launch date and many left disappointed that they didn't get. They would be glad to have more rather then create this shortage. More units = more market control of the console.
Less Units=Ability to Jack the Price
That's why they're doing it. I don't blame them. I don't like it, but I don't blame them. Of course peolpe are disappointed when they don't get them, but it'll make them more willing to pay more money for them.

Combined with some good PR, you can stimulate demand for the units.
As we can all see, it's working really well.

When's the PS3 release date, and since I'm doing the FreePay site for it, how long after it comes out do you think FreePay people will receive it?

What we need is a group of people to get a truck and head over to that warehouse...

ps3 launch date is to be released at CES this year (january 5th-7th). sony rented the most space there. sony is still going for a spring launch so probably sometime between march and may. i am not going to preorder at gamestop this time because i still have not gotten my 360 from them. fuck this. ill just order a bundle from circuit city when i am able to.

I know how supply and demand works. I suspected all along that this shortage was fake, now I have confirmed it. And why would I make something like this up?
