It was awesome, people were leaving amazed. It made my gf cry and although I didn't cry, I admit I did get verklempt.

Peter Jackson is amazing when it comes to these CGI movies.

Haven't seen it, but plan on it this weekend. I looked on rottentomatoes, and the only major problem critics are having is the long movie time. And I agree Peter Jackson is pretty brilliant.

The only reason the original King Kong was good was because of its atheistic. grainy, poor graphics and effects, horrid japanese voice overs...I have no interest seeing a hollywood love story in which a oversized cgi ape falls in love with a girl.

Um, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The original King Kong wasn't a japanese movie, it was an American movie. I think you think its Godzilla.

What the 1933 version did for movies is unmeasurable It was like what the Matrix or Jurassic Park did to special effects in movies. Nothing had ever looked that way before and compared to now, its garbage, but you have to respect the history. I've only heard great reviews and the only negative is the length...

I just saw it, and don't really know what to say. It was the most exciting movie I can remember seeing in a long time(not this year...like 5-6 years). Imagine Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jurrassic Park and you've still only seen about 1/3 rd of the movie.

I would definatly rank it above LOTR trilogy, this movie is going to make a ton of money

I can't wait to see this in 3D!

Well, I just got back like 2 hours ago from it and I really didn't enjoy it. Maybe it was because we got there late and had to sit in the front row. Either way i thought it was way too long. Some good parts, you didn't even see kong until like an hour and a half into the movie. whatever.

I saw it last night, and it was really really good. I don't know about better than Lord of the Rings, but it was really good. i didn't think it was too long, but some of my friends that i saw it with did. Go see it though.

I thought it was pretty good, but not the amazing, spectacular film it was hyped to be. Oh, and about an hour into the movie, the film got jammed and melted, so we got an unexpected 5 minute intermission (w/ no compensation, cheap shit Century theatres). I thought it was worth it, even though I still like LOTR better.
