Some dumbass bought a cd-player from me then left a negative feedback rating saying that I didn't describe it.

http//feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=r_gibson&ssPageName=STRKMEUFS

The listing clearly said that the drive was spray painted black.. is there anything I can do?

Nope, you're stuck with it. If you complained to ebay about it, I don't think that they'd care.

What if I use that square trade thing?

You could try. If I were you I would try. I would hate to receive bad feedback over such a small matter. You could also try a mutual feedback withdrawl.[=http//pages.ebay.com/help/feedback/questions/mutual-withdrawal.html]a mutual feedback withdrawl.

no it wasn't that bad.

like i said it wasn't noticeable from a 2ft distance... it's probably not the same color as his computer. but i mean the dude only paid for shipping.

I offered him a refund of $3 if he'd retract the feedback.

here's a picture. It's not like he can't go out and re-spray paint it.

You can respond to negatve feedback so when people look at it they can see your response right below his feedback.

Just respond to it and say that all item imperfections/flaws/defects were disclosed in the item listing. In situations like this I also think it's important to avoid leaving him negative feedback in retaliation, especially if he held up his end of the bargain (paid on time, etc), even as tempting as this might be.

haha thanks..

anyhow. i e-mailed him, he responded. Still trying to see if I can entice him to a $3 refund. I told him it should be enough to buy a new can of spray-paint to repaint it.

How much is your feedback rating worth to you? I'd just offer him a full refund. $9 is not that much.

Next time, just leave him negative, give it a week or so, then offer mutual withdrawal of feedback. This usually works as most people do care somewhat about their feedback (buyers too). But glad you worked it out =]
