So yeah, I'm a novice bowler and I'm getting my first ball tomorrow. Are any of you guys experts or people who know what you're talking about that can recommend something for a guy who just learned to hook and needs a good all-purpose ball?

I used to bowl a while back when I was like 14 or something. I went to some tournaments but then gave it up. Bowling is so damn expensive. Although, now at the U of H bowling alley it is cheap for students. I forgot all the names of balls and what was good and stuff. The name "striker" seems to come to mind for some reason, it may be just static.
