This is pretty cool. Took me a while to figure it out.

It's old, but pretty cool.

I remember this. It amazed me at first but I knew there was a trick....there's always a trick..

I'm guessing it has to do with the pattern of the symbols..

The reasoning behind it is that whenever you choose a 2-digit # and subtract by the sum of its digits, several #s will the the same answer, ie 99 thru 90 all get the same answer 81. This happens all the way down the line, so the program just uses the same symbol for these numbers 81, 72, 63, 54, 45, 36, 27, 18, 9 and shows you this symbol (you'll also notice that all these #'s digits add up to 9). It then fills in random symbols for the other #s to create the effect.

I was wondering how this worked, thanks ajasax.

I saw one of these and it amazed me. Then I thought I had tricked it lol, but I was just subtracting wrong.

Oh I remember that. Yeah it's just mathematical laws.

it always says whatever the symbol fo 18 is.

How it works is that no matter what 2-digit number you start with there is only about 15 (or so) numbers you can end up with. What it does is makes sure those 15 numbers are all the same symbol. Try it out without clicking the link. Pick 5 diferent 2-digit numbers and the answers will all have the same symbol. Now the genius to this is that the symbols are always changing each time the page refreshes...

really old and obvious how it works lol.

Well I knew there was a trick to it with the math but the fact you get different numbers and different symbols throws you off...
