I won't name names but many high TR people are running out of sites/offers to do. Some high TR people have been saying they can do sites they already signed up for and getting "friends" to do the offers without informing the people they are trading with that they wouldnt be doing the offers direcly.
My suggestion for a new rule is that if you will not be doing the offers yourself directly you should explicitly state that in your trading thread.......

Agreed.

I'm going to add that to the new sticky in The Trading Post.

Thanks J D

I suggested this a while ago. Glad it is being used now.

Also, that if this is the case, TR doesn't apply. The friend has 0 TR as far as I'm concerned, I shouldn't go first because someone with high TR vouches for their friend.

good point. I think all of you are right with the TR. I recently had someone with 0 TR trying to make me go first just because their high TR friend was on the forums.

The TR applies to the person on the forum whom you are trading with. If Johnny can get you a green, but only his friend Jinny can do it and she doesn't have an account here, then it applies to Johnny's TR since Jinny doesn't have an account.

If it wasn't for Johnny then you wouldn't be getting anything at all, so that is who you deal with and that is who the TR applies. If Johnny has +11, and you have +10 or less, then you have to go 1st.

Damn High TR people are nothing but trouble, lol

The TR should apply for whoever is doing it. The friends that I have converted into doing free stuff do not have accounts here.

I like this rule, I almost traded with mikstarz and the clown, when both of them were in fact scamming the free sites and would only have gotten me in trouble

Ok after getting in my initial dumb joke in I decided to reread your post and actually input something of use.

First I dont see the difference if someone does a trade or there friend or friends friend.
That persons account is up for banninshment if they dont complete the trade. Its not like they can say oh well my friend is an idiot but thanx for the green.
As I am to understand the rules if I make a trade both parties have to fulfill each side of the agreement.

So it doesnt really matter whoes doing the referral as long as it gets done.

So what is the purpose of stating its a friend doing the offer?
Does it minimize your risk? NO, all bad things can still happen.

No matter who does the offer the people who set up the trade are the ones who face banishment or reduction in TR. So if a person wants to put there TR and account up as collateral for a friend so be it.

I just don't see how a "friends doing this" post will minimize your risk or increase the penalty if the trade fails.

My problem with trading with people who are using their freinds, is that usually it takes longer for them to complete the site, and much more of a hassle if the offer isn't credited.

This is not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to use freinds. Some people work very great with this. But i do like to know who will be completing the offer, before the trade is confirmed. I want to be fully informed and have the choice of who i am dealing with.
And TR rules should apply like any other trade.

wrong in so many ways.

it's matters for the reason peincone just mentioned and more importantly this.

Some people are scammers using their friends name, but doing the offers themselves. I realize this is a small percentage, but it [i2c4c3acbd1]is[/i2c4c3acbd1] a risk. A risk I like to be aware about before I get involved in a trade.

look at theclownoftightness, and mikstarz for two very recent examples of this. They are looking to collect paypal money for trades untill they are caught by the sites.

Your point being?

How in any way does a simple line

[quote7a5dbb167f]all TR rules apply and my friend will be doing the offer[/quote7a5dbb167f]

Lower your risk or keep people from cheating or using friends names or anything any of you said.

NONE, it doesnt lower your risk at all.

It might give you a heads up not to trade with them, but I dont think that will keep them from trading. So many people trade they will still get the trades.

Look at theclownoftightness, he has more scammer threads about him then anyone else yet he managed to keep trading. Do you think some warnign at the bottom of his thread would have slowed him down. NOPE!

If anything, and yall want new stickies or rules make them post
[quote7a5dbb167f]I have a open scammer issue[/quote7a5dbb167f] on all posts if they have an open issue. This will end tons more problems then this idea.

On a side note I always do tell people if a friend will be doiing the offer like in my current trade thread. I just do it cause I am a nice guy, lol.

amen

thats my point entirely

it's not that hard to write

my friend is doing the offer.

as far as your scammer note, then we have to make a whole new set of rules as to what deems a scammer thread. I waited almost 3 weeks before making a thread when i was scammed twice last summer. However I see some people making threads 4 days after they aren't satisfied.

It's not fair to have to link to a false scammer thread that someone made after three days, because they don't know how to wait.

I think that is a much more complicated issue than it appears.

A simple search the scammer forum before trading note in the trading forum accomplishes this.

Nice idea here but nearly impossible to enforce
