I've read throught the various TV on iPod posts, but cant find an answer to this... "Can you take a video off of your computer and put it in the movies part of the video section and play it on your ipod" or is there and easy way to get it in the music videos section? thx

If you right click on the video in itunes and you go to get info. where you can rename and everything. Go to options and go to the movie tab. Just select music video. Those are the only two categories right now

try these links

FOR MAC
http//howto.diveintomark.org/ipod-dvd-ripping-guide/
http//macupdate.com/info.php/id/19769

DVD to iPod use Mac the ripper to rip the dvd, then ffmpegx to convert it to video format.

FOR PC
http//www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/guides.html

The only (big) problem with Videora is that the audio gets out of sync in some situations. This is mostly for video that has been compressed already, but I've heard certain DVDs do it too.

Here's an alternative guide using free software
http//arstechnica.com/guides/tweaks/ipod-video.ars/6

Here's how to do it using Nero Recode
http//arstechnica.com/guides/tweaks/ipod-video.ars/5

One thing about this one is that it doesn't have you adjust the bitrate after step 9. Just drag the sliders next to the filenames down to or below 765.
