Can someone explain (not big, just a simple explanation) of what the difference in EDTV and HDTV are, I know HDTV is better quality, but only if you subscribe to HD channels, What is EDTV, and will it be able to be converted into HDTV once that is the standard thing?
Any Info you Can tell me would be GREAT!
Thanks!

[ba831cd29a6]1. DVD and standard TV will look basically the same on both.
2. EDTVs plasmas generally have better black-level performance and higher contrast ratios, which lead to better-looking dark scenes.
3. HDTV plasmas will look significantly more detailed with HDTV and computer sources, even though they don't show every pixel.
4. HDTV plasmas have smaller pixels, allowing you to sit closer without discerning the pixel grid. [/ba831cd29a6]

you can display HD signals on your EDTV but you dont get that extra benefit. personally i would go HD because i will have a Xbox 360, ps3, and feed it HD broadcast signals

Why are people even considering this? HDTV all the way. It is a billion times better. Check out a 720p movie and then get a DVD movie. Play it on your computer.

Where can I see a 720p movie? anywhere that shows the difference between HD and Reg? I saw displays at walmart, and couldn't tell much difference myself...

Def go with an hdtv over an edtv. Especially if you plan on playing any of the next gen consoles.
