I have Vonage. It's pretty good. It costs us about $36 a month with unlimited calls nationwide, no long distance charges in North America, and about $0.03 a minute to Scotland.
The only things that suck is that sometimes I get other peoples phonecalls (I'll be in the middle of a call and it will cut out and someone along the road will be talking but they can't hear me, and then it will cut back into my call), if your internet goes down, then you can't use your phone and to dial 911, you have to activate it, wait 20 days and then wait for an e-mail saying you can use it.
Other than that it's pretty sweet. You can see all your missed calls, all calls you've made or have recieved, you can get your voicemail in an e-mail and download them and keep them, when you are on the phone and someone else calls, you can switch between the calls.
I'd say if it works out cheaper than your current phone service, then go for it.

I believe stockmanjr uses SunRocket and he said they are really good. Cheaper than Vonage as far as I can remember.
