I don't get it, why putting it there?

If you are driving and you want to change to another song you have to put do something weird, you have to pt your head down to change song, to chagne song you have to put your hand kind of weird

I dont regret it. I can remove it. I have a wireless remote in there from apples new dock so it is easy to change the song. The angle changes on the ipod so i can see it better.

that would be weird moving my hand down like that to use the scroll wheel but whatever floats your boat. here is a pic of my setup (just a rca cable coming from the back of the head unit)

its hooked up to an adapter chat changes the m-bus to rca and the adapter is hooked up to the back of the head unit.

i dont see the point, however
why not put a real screen in there? like a 6.5" or a 7" and feed music videos to it

or a cheap ass pc (just running the OS) that interfaces with the ipod and is hooked up to a screen

i recommend Xenarc VGA screens to anyone interested. crystal clear, great for GPS and movies

I would rather have a screen but that involves alot more work and alot more $$$
I paid about 150$ to have this done.

Your way the screen would cost 100$. 150$ for a peice for the screen name. 150$ for a peice for the head unit made. then i would need something to play it....and i would still have no place for my ipod.

Wait... A $150 to have what done? Isn't it just a cable running to an adaptor and then the back of the cd deck? $150 seems like it would have gotten that cable hidden or somewhat concealed. Does it sound good like a regular cd is being played in your cd deck because my girlfriend has that iTrip and she uses it with her iPod of course and it sounds crappy. The songs are not as loud and clear. I like how you got the black iPod nano though, those are always sold out.

That thing is a glorifed iTrip, and for the most part useless to anyone who lives near or in a big(ish) city.

The best way to do this (in my opinion) is to use the AUX input off your head unit, and if you don't have an AUX input, buy a converter from Blitzsafe specific to your headunit model.

Blitzsafe is now selling iPod converters, rather than just AUX to RCA converters which allow you to directly connect the ipod, instead of have to use an RCA cable.

I would have hidden the V1 in the dash and then installed the indicator in the gauge cluster area. There's no reason to advertise your radar detector to other drivers or police officers, as you do if you have it installed on your dash like that.
