Okay, so is this a good thing to get?

I want it so that I can use it to make purchases on BlackFriday, and then use the rebates to pay it off without going over the funds that are currently in my account.

I don't know squat about credit cards. I could definately use a credit card for Black Friday tho (the day after thanksgiving)...

Here are the specs for the card

[b592daa1f5f]Late fee[/b592daa1f5f] $19 if balance is less than $200
$39 if balance is $200 or greater

[b592daa1f5f]Overlimit fee[/b592daa1f5f] $35 if you exceed your credit line at any time during a billing cycle

[b592daa1f5f]We may change the APRs, fees, and other terms of your account at any time in accordance with applicable law and the Account Agreement, which we will send you when your account is opened. Factors we may consider in determining whether and how to change your terms include the frequency and the severity of defaults and other indications of risk on accounts with Washington Mutual (including Providian credit card accounts) and other creditors.[/b592daa1f5f]

li Your APRs for Purchases, Balance Transfers and Cash Advances (and the margins added to the Prime Rate to determine these APRs) will depend on Washington Mutual's evaluation of your application and credit history. The APR for Balance Transfers above applies to Balances transferred in connection with this application. Depending on your credit profile with us and other lenders, you may qualify for additional balance transfer offers with us in the future. The terms of any future offer will be disclosed to you when the offer is made.

lili The Prime Rate used to determine your APRs is the highest Prime Rate published in The Wall Street Journal on the first business day following the 22nd day of the previous calendar month. Variable rates are current as of November 2005.

lililiDefault APR Each time you default on this or any Washington Mutual (including Providian) credit card account because you fail to make at least the minimum payment when due, exceed your credit line, make a payment to us that is not honored by your bank, or are reported as delinquent on an account with any other creditor, we may increase the APRs on your account up to a maximum of the Default APR. Factors considered in determining the Default APR include the frequency and severity of account defaults and other indications of account usage and risk on accounts with Washington Mutual (including Providian credit card accounts) and/or other credit accounts.

§ Purchase of Cash Equivalents Charges for the purchases of cash equivalents such as money orders, traveler´s checks, foreign currency, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, and the like are treated as Cash Advances and are subject to the Cash Advance fee described above.

Cash Line The amount available for cash advances will be 20% of your total credit line and will be shown on your statement.

How payments are applied Payments will be applied first to finance charges and fees, then to the Balance Category with the lowest APR until it has been fully paid, then to Balance Categories (including new transactions) in the order of the lowest APR to the highest APR. This means that balances subject to promotional or introductory APRs will be paid before balances subject to higher APRs. If the Purchase Balance and another Balance Category have the same APR, payments will generally be applied first to Purchases.

The information above is accurate as of November 09, 2005 and is subject to change. For information after this date, please return to www.PayPalCreditCard.com or write to Card Services, Attn PayPal Visa, P.O. Box 9157, Pleasanton, CA 94566-9157.

That APR is actually pretty excellent, I'd apply for it first before I start making any assumptions becuase I'm guessing if you have no experience with credit cards, then your credit rating won't be good enough to support a card approval for this.

that card is 10-25% interest
I would get the paypal debit card because thats what it sounds like you want.
"and then use the rebates to pay it off without going over the funds that are currently in my account." that means you will be using all your paypal money to pay it?
the visa is just like any other credit card...

Then go for it, its a pretty reasonable APR for a starter card. )
But check with your dad obviously first, becuase any new cards = a blemish on credit history.
