I have a feeling this thing doesn't add any reception to the phone, but I need a new battery, and some of the sellers are including this antenna with the battery - wondering whether it's worth getting one?

I have verizon and the e815 (and I love it), but I have never messed with other antennas. I have however read many threads on mobile phone forums , and the basic conclusion is, it will not add reception, but for the most part it will stay the same. One thing to know is, that if you live on a fringe area, without strong coverage, the phone will use extra power to find a signal, resulting in shorter battery life. Hope that help some.

thanks, that 's what I thought. I live in an area with very good cell service, it's just that alot of my calls are made from a room that's very effective at blocking the cell signal, so I wondered whether the antenna would help at all.

Do you have any suggestions on Verizon phones that get great reception? I have a year left on my contract now, but I'd consider a refurb if it got better cell reception and I could sell my old phone.

For all your cell phone needs, head over to www.HowardForums.com. Just go into the Verizon subform, and search. Just about any question ever asked about phones has been asked there. I am 99% sure the general census is that the moto e815 is the strongest phone reception-wise.

BTW, the verizon razr is coming out I think the 23rd of November, so that might be something for you to look forward to.

I've been to Howardforums quite a bit, and you're right the E815 is the consensus winner for reception. Of course, with a phone worth $60 and the E815 selling for at least $200, I'm going to wait a bit.

The RAZR would be cool and nice, but I don't really consider my phone to be an accessory as much as a tool, so I probably wouldn't treat it well enough to justify buying one. Of course in a year with the New Every Two deal, I'll certainly consider the RAZR.

Can you suggest some places other than their forums to look for a cheaper E815?
