Though it is also kind of cool and if legit, would be cool to win...

A guy is auctioning xbox 360 + limysteryli box. Basically throwing in a bunch of other cool goodies and if the bid gets up to certain amounts he is throwing in other stuff. If it's all real and he is legit it actually looks like it could be a pretty damn good deal.

Cliff notes xbox 360+ auction at $2,500 already.

It seems a bit too good to be true, but is it's a scam then he is risking a hell of a lot of ebay feedback for it, especially if it only goes for $2,500 which it's at at the moment.

Is this? the new "it" ebay thing? I saw a mystery auction with a guys paycheck, he sells you an envelope and in it contains his paycheck. He says he works at an airport, and gives more details everytime the auction goes up. He can be like, the CEO of the company, or he can be a baggage handler. I like the idea, but it seems a little too risky for me. I do however like this xbox one, but I think people are spending rediculous amounts of money on it. If you want it bad enough to spend >$1,000.00 on it, you can find one at some local store on launch day.

Here is the link to the paycheck auction http//cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5629941887&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

Hmmm, I just read his auction, and I think this might be a scam. No way is he going to give over 20,000 dollars worth of stuff for 4,000. His ultimate goal is to make money here. Now unless he just won the Powerball lottery, and wants to make alot of people happy, I wouldn't place a bid. These days people arent trying to make random strangers happy, especially if you bid 4,000 dollars and can sell this stuff for 20,000+. It just doesnt add up to me, and I hope we get some information about this when the bidding is over.

He's got a ton of feedback though. Do you think it's all inflated?

Nope, these auctions are real. It's just like people selling expensive new things for cheap. Who knows how they do it, but they do... I love mystery auctions.

I mean, I gues its possible that its legit, but like I said, only if he wants someone to really really happy. My quess is that he has the 360 bundle, and everything eles is there, just not exactly what you expect. Like when the radio station gave away a brand new Toyota. Everyone thought it was going to be a new truck, but the winner got a brand new toy Yoda. So you might get a DLP, but the DLP might be a Damn Lumpy Pie, you never know.

People sell new things for cheap within reason. Not 20,000 dollars worth of merchandis for 4,000. I can see someone buying something at wholesale, and selling it on ebay for much cheaper than retail. But what he is saying, is just...not adding up.

People are selling Ralph Lauren Doncaster, a really nice bedset, for a fragment of the real price (which is in the 1000s). And these things aren't scams.. they get support from the advertisers they list on there, as you see all these auction sites and such giving away gift cards in their messages. They get help from them too.

anybody know what the gift certificate is for famousdealz on that paycheck auction? I signed up to watch but I havent heard back.

For those that havent looked apparently the guy is giving out "gift certificates" just for watching the auction.

So far
XBOX 360 premium (400)
Ipod (300 at best - could be a shuffle for all we know)
PSP (250 at best)
5+5 games (500-600)
Some 1 carat jewelry (we'll say 0)

$1550 worth of stuff going for $2500. Are there other stuff I missed?

The DLP is something with the initials DLP.
The Media Center is a $30 Xbox Media Center Remote
