Ebay troubles :-(

Tell me what you guys think I should do

Basicly this guy is trying to blackmail me with my feedback to get $25 back on one my auctions.

His email to me

I got the unit yesterday and I'm very dissapointed. In your
auction you stated and I qoute"You are bidding on a lislightlyli
used Archos Gmini 220 MP3 player. It is almost perfect
condition cosmetically and works great." The screen is scratches
all over it including a spot that seems like it won't come
off,pretty annoying. You didn;t mention anything
aboutlight scratches on
the unit. So I think your item description was off the mark. It
does seem to work fine and i'm happy with that.. So here are
some options I'm offering to you. 1.) I would either like a refund
in full. 2.) you paypal me 25.00 and I leave you great
feedback.3.) I open up an item dispute and leave negative
feedback. I feel that your description was not accurate.
Please let me know how we can resolve this I think the 25.00 is
the fairest way and the least amount of hassle for bith of us.
I would actually only be getting back 15.00 since i paid
10.00 for shipping. please email asap.

Im sorry that you were not satisfied but i definetly do not feel that $25 is a fair refund. You said "The screen is scratches all over it including a spot that seems like it won't come off, pretty annoying. You didn't mention anything", That would be an understandable annoyance except for the fact that I did mention it in the description when I said "It is ALMOST perfect condition cosmetically". Unfortunately those scratches were the ONLY cosmetic damages I found on the unit and seeing as how they are so minor you cant see them except when its held up to the light, I decided to omit them from the listing information. I am really sorry that you feel like you were misled but there really was no dishonesty and no intention of misleading bidders when I posted this. Im sorry that you expected it to be NEW but it was listed as a like new item. Please get back to me before making any decisions.

Tell him to fill dispute (you will win) - Tell him that your description was precise, tell him that you would like to start a dispute with eBay to see their point of view (you will definately win)

Thanks, appreciated. Man This douche fucking pisses me off. If he had told me he was unhappy I would have gladly refunded his shipping it just really pisses me off that he made me feel like I was getting blackmailed.

i got my first neutral on my account a couple weeks ago, but i have 100+ positive already so i don't care that much. at a mere 16, i'd open the dispute and risk the neg since you can just ditch the account and start over with minimal loss.

hes at 118 feedback with 2 neg so im sure he wont want a 3rd ;-)

I was just going to post something like this. I hate it when you buy something and you pay right away and they don't give you feedback until you do. Whenever I sell something I always give them feedback right when they pay. I say don't give this guy a dime. Let him try and dispute. If he wanted new he should have looked for an item marked"unopened, sealed". What a dick.

Someone tried something like that on me, but worse. I sold them a brand new laptop, advertised as shipping within one day. Then the damn storms came and it was tough as post offices were closed for days due to power problems.

He gets his laptop, shipped 2 -day priority, but a week late. He asks for poz feedback making no mention of being upset or unhappy. He waits for me to give it, then writes back saying he paid for "premium" shipping since my shipping charge was like 60 bux (always roll in the paypal fees and refund it if they don't use it) and that he wanted like 50 of it back, he was like "I think that's fair".

I basically told him that I can't control the weather, wouldn't refund a dime since he paid for priority and that's what he got, and that his sneaky "leave me feedback" ruse was basically blackmail and ended my response with "that kind of thing is between you and your god"

and he got all defensive and bible crazy and we argued more, but he never left bad feedback.

All in all, I think Admin makes a valid response. Risk it. 16 feedbacks is low enough that you can start over, and do more damage by leaving him neg feedback too. The way its worded just seems wrong, total blackmail.

I would forward that email to ebay support. Feedback blackmail is against the rules and so maybe they can do something. It'll take a few days though, so email the guy and tell him you're thinking about what to do.

If that doesn't work, risk the neg. 16 is not much to lose like everyone says.

if he leaves negative feedback (after you tell him to suck it) simply use your reply space to post that he tried to blackmail you for postive feedback.
