The people running the Canadian contest said something about getting the Xbox to us on the 15th....so pre-launch is certainly do-able ...but I also want to trow my Xbox party to celebrate the win...
I wonder how much it would devalue if I opened it and "tested" it....
The canadian one does come with a nice carrying case though...some people have sold just the carrying case for $100+

I can't remember past systems launches, but did stores sell games and "peripherals" such as extra controllers before launch date? I saw some game pre-sell cards at Bestbuy that had dates like 11/15 but can't remember if there were actually games and controllers out before the system launch dates in the past.
If there aren't, it would be kind of hard to have a "launch party" with the every10minutes sets since you would only have one controller (and one game).
