i found a nice guide on how get video other than whats offered by itunes onto your ipod. Some of you may already know about this but I have seen a few questions regarding this and thought i'd share. I'm linking you to the portion of the article that tells you how you can put your videos on the ipod for free by downloading certain applications, but there are other pages that describe easier programs that would do the same thing except you have to pay around $30-$80 for them. hope this helps somebody, i'm going to get my own video ipod on friday so i know i'll be using this..

the first one looks like it would take over 3 hours to rip a 2 hour movie.

the second one is short and concise. however, the cost looks to be $30, unless someone wants to give me a copy or buy me one ...

it says the videora converter is free so...how is it $30? i shall try it when i get home and find out. they should put time costs on tehre.

used videora converter on my music videos. tried to mpeg-4, .h264. i found mpeg-4 to be shotty at best, pretty significantly reduces the quality of both audio and video.
.h264 conversion mostly emphasizes wat the original video had. ie good picture will come out with good picture, and in my case good audio came out with SUPERB audio, very impressive. and at 2/3 the original file size.
so yeah, no need to buy anything here, unless dvd decrypter costs $30 but....i got it awhile ago and it was free, and i didnt have a crack or anything. takes about the same amount of time that the video is to encode it, so 1-1 time is not bad.

Yeah the guide you found does look alot easier, i think i'll use it instead. its better than downloading 6 different programs like i'd have to do with that guide i found
