Good day to U,I saw ur items displayed on this site which fascinated my imagination just like the same thing that my son who has just graduated and ready to begin with his own life had asked me to buy for him.I'll like to know if U can ship this items to Africa ,but I really want this items to get to him before his B-day that's coming up in 2 wks time.I'll be making the payment thru bidpay coz I have an account with them simply bcos of their newly introduced measure of security for both buyers and sellers.I'll need ur name, address and phone number in order to make the payment asap.Lastly,I'll create the shipment thru my DHL account while I'll only need to know when the item will be ready to be picked up so DHL can come and pick it from your house either you are home or not.Am xpecting ur reply. We can chat on Y!messenger(samsonee15)

LOL, I never understood these scams. How do these people stay ebay members??? It seems like ebay is completely oblivious to the fact that they are here. Is there a loophole with the hole, ship this to Africa thing?

They don't expect stay ebay members, but if they can convince one or two people to ship them a laptop in exchange for a (fake) money order, they make quite a bit of money, wait a bit, and open a new eBay account.

I got one of these scams before. I was like, "bitch show me the money". For some reason I never got a reply.
My sister is a power seller on ebay and she was just contacted out of the blue to sell someone's computer. It seems like a total scam and I'm sure they are going to tell her to list it, sell it and then send the money, they will ship the computer. Sad thing is people fall for this crap all the time. I caught a scammer when I was in HS at a smoothie place I worked at. I'll tell the story if anyone cares...

OK so I was working alone one night at a Juice it Up! in high school. This dude comes in and orders a smoothie. While I am making it, he reaches down an picks something up. When I'm done he shows me he found, a ring (really ugly and gaudy). As soon as he shows it to me, the phone rings. I run over and answer it. Its this guy with a think (really fake) sounding southern accent. He says he was in there earlier and lost his ring. I said ok well someone just found it, do you want to talk to him? They talk for a minute and he hands the phone back. The guy on the phone tells me he is 45 min. away but he is willing to pay me $600 reward for it. Its very sentimental, blah blah blah. I say ok, I'll be here til 10. I hang up.
The guy that has the ring tells me that he'll split the reward with me but he is a truck driver and has to go to make his delivery. At this point I'm just like this is total bullshit. Who pays $600 for their own ring when he knows its at the store? So the "truker" says to me that he has an idea. I give him $200 from the register and I can take the $600 reward and put the $200 back and make $400. Its smart because he knows all these stores keep at least $200 in the register. Well now I know that this is bullshit. I tell the guy to hold on for 1 second and I slip into the back to call the cops. The guy realizes I'm not buying his bullshit and he is like, um I gotta go and bolts.
I called my manager and she called the owner and he called the cops. It turns out these 2 guys have been going around to all the local smoothie places and scamming the young kids that work there. At some of the busier places they got like $300-$400. At the time it happened to me they had scammed over $4000.
Its amazing because the second he said he'd give a reward I was like, this is such a scam but they had pulled it off like 15 times just in my local area. It just shows you to always, always, be sceptical of fast money. Its usually a scam...

No, I was kinda pissed. The owner was happy and my manager gave me some good shifts that made good tips but that is about it. Its ok because I used to give all my friends free smoothies...

Yeah thats really the point. But these guys convince some kid making $6/hour that all they have to do is take $200 out and in a hour they'll replace it and make $400. Its hard to resist...

That would have been nice, but it's not likely you'd hear a manager say "Ooh! You mean you [i7f6e4a289d]didn't[/i7f6e4a289d] give our money to a total stranger? Here's a raise, m'boy."
