Why is someone bidding $90 for an email address on Ebay?

I went to search XBox 360 in EBay, and I saw like two auctions for email addresses with XBox 360 in them. What's the deal? Here's the link for the one going for $90. I don't get it, is there something I'm missing out on. It's just a gmail account!

nah, I'd imagine the bids are private so no one can email the bidders and clarify what they're bidding on (which might encourage them to retract their bids).

That was actually a post that the subject said "1000000 Gold on Runescape!" and after I bought it, they sent an email saying "I'll send the guide after you send the money," yet the auction said NOTHING of a guide, it said actual gold. I read the complete auction.

Have you [i4a102fcd8d]ever[/i4a102fcd8d] looked at the email address of a message you know to be spam? If yes, then why would you buy something from someone with a gmail account? They could get hosting and a domain and mail forwarding for less than $250.

[i4a102fcd8d]edit[/i4a102fcd8d]Wait, have you or anyone you know ever bought ANYTHING from a spam email you got? I'll still bet anyone $5 the bidder of this and any other xbox360 email auction think they're getting an Xbox.

The other guy probably reported you so your auction would get taken down and his would get all the attention. You can certainly do the same thing to him. Search for "Ebay Keyword Spamming" on Google.

[quoteff63ba00cf="shamash"]I think what you have to do is be like "I will ship this out on the release date in accordance to Ebay Terms of Service" like alot say.

Well, the sweatshirt itself is already released. But their issue was apparently that I gave bidders a choice if which size sweatshirt they wanted. (I was going to let them decide on the size, then place the order for them using their mailing address.)

I find it hilarious people are paying 800 dollars for an xBox presale, thinking somone got it early. P[/quoteff63ba00cf]

I don't think they're being bid so high because people think the 360's are already in hand, I think it's because of the hyped "shortage." People who want to be sure they get theirs as close to the release date as possible (or who promised their kid one for Christmas) are willing to pay.

I actually will be getting mine early as a result of every10minutes.com. I want to auction mine off, but I need to figure out whether that's technically allowed.
