lol. your title newbie harms other newbies, they might think you are related somehow.
#1 if your IP changed, you don't have a static IP. If you are paying for a static IP and it changed, call your ISP and complain... But seeing as how you aren't really sure, I'd doubt that you are.
#2 No. If you sign up for a site more than one time you will get caught and you won't get anything for free ever.
#3 If your IP changed from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.3 these addresses don't count and are internal IP addresses. Go to http//www.whatismyip.com if you don't know how to check an external address.

Then what do you mean? Why can't you do anysite with the IP that you already have? If your IP changes that won't affect you. Also, i'd be bitching if my static IP changed... If I have a static IP that is because I have resources behind that IP that I always want access to.

no im using IE and it changed.
i dont think it would be fraud cause people do it when they move and thats a different ip

It is fraud because you are only allowed to sign up once per site. You obviously don't know much about computers so I'd say be safe and not do them again because you are going to get caught...

Look, apparently you have an AOL IP. That doesn't mean that you are using the AOL browser, it means that AOL is your service provider, or ISP. AOL DOES NOT OFFER STATIC IP'S, AND I'M GUESS YOU ARE UNAWARE OF WHAT THAT REALLY MEANS.

Some ISPs give you a static IP (never changes) or one that changes very infrequently. Some ISPs give you a new IP every night. Some ISPs give you a new one all the time like AOL...

Okay... You can sign up for sites that you have not already signed up for... if you signed up for ipods.freepay.com and your IP was 4.2.2.1 and your IP is now 4.2.2.2 and you want to signup for flatscreens.freepay.com that won't matter. A VERY LARGE[/size2eff9e77ad] number of users do not have static IP addresses.
If you signed up for ipods.freepay.com and your IP was 4.2.2.1 and are signup again on ipods.freepay.com again, regardless of you IP, you'll get your shit busted out.

Have we determined that you are definatley referring to your external IP and not your internal IP? It doesn't seem like someone who is having this sort of problem isn't technically savy enough to have a demand for a static IP. Check with BELLSOUTH to see if you can drop to a dynamic package and save come money... Hopefully enough to buy an iPod.

Look, it's very simple.
If you have signed up for any free sites before now, you CANNOT sign up for them again. Regardless of whether or not you have a new IP.
If you don't believe us, then please, go ahead and try it. But don't come and complain to us when your accounts are on hold. roll

Who the hell knows. Last time I checked we didn't have any telco reps in here. Call your ISP. ONLY people with answers to that question.
There are a large number of reasons that your static IP could change, every single one of them involves calling your ISP for a resolution.

bottom line It doesnt matter how dramatic your ip change was. You are still in the same household and thus CANNOT signup for the same site twice. Do you really think the freesites haven't taken steps to protect themselves from this sort of thing. From the looks of it, freepay is doing approvals manually and if they have reason to believe your refs arent 100% legit, you arent getting a free anything.
Wolfeman
22-10-2005 13:06:15
Why the fuck do you care if your IP changed? Unless you are paying extra for a static IP it is going to change every now and then. It might stay the same for a few months and then change 3 times in a week. It doesn't hurt anything unless you are running a server or something and in that case get a static one and pay the extra money.
The chances of you knowing enough to run a server or need a static IP are slim to none so I'd just not worry about it. Just don't do sites more than once since its obvious you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed...
tracemhunter
22-10-2005 13:09:04
um... chances are you have a dynamic ip peanut. getting a static ip from sbc or bell south costs extra each month. i have sbc and my ip changes maybe once or twice a week.
