Does anyone know if you can add your own videos to the new ipod videos? Because you can add your own songs without buying them...so do you have to buy videos or can you put in your own?

you can add your own videos..
but some of them might require you to convert them to mepg 4 or something like that...
that's the only video source the ipod accept..)

avi is a wrapper... I have posted this before in the other thread. Rename it to .mp4url==http://=http:///url and see if it works. It has to be a certain resolution and bitrate, the specs are out there. PSP video should work on it just fine.

If you have a mac, use this

I got it from someone on the IGN boards and porn has nothing to do with it. ;)

Allen626

[quoteef75a7d95f="Allen626"]you converted the frame rate but left the audio framerate the same probaly[/quoteef75a7d95f]Im not talking about the conversion anymore, im talking about on itunes. Because if i pause it and start playing again it goes back in sync, and then after a few seconds gets out of place again.

Also one more thing, if i want to add mpeg videos into itunes instead of mp4, what conversion program would i use? what are all the specs (bitrate, resolutions) it needs to be at?

Well when you encode movies this is what happens. So did you encode this? Does it play fine with other good video players like windows media player classic (google it).

iTunes has a shitty video player, I saw that within the first second of me using it. Do not use any audio player for video, use VLC or Windows Media Player Classic.

Do you guys think you'll really watch a lot of stuff with the video ipod? The screen's so small and the resolution isn't so great either.

It's better than a photo ipod but I think I might get the new creative zen vision instead. I saw it this weekend and the screen is really clear and large, almost like the PSP screen. $399 for 30GB though.

[/quote6b32b6b0d9]I know I will, probably more than music honestly. I dont really care how big the screen is.

You are probably going to keep on charging it a lot since it will only play about 2 hours of video. I am going to watch videos but not as much as my music.

On another note, does anyone have the answer to my question I asked a while ago

Just wait a week and I bet tools will be springing up. Nero (Recode) does MP4/H.264 so it'll probably do the job.

From apple site
Video support
H.264 video up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4url==http://=http:///url and .movurl==http://=http:///url file formats
MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4url==http://=http:///url and .movurl==http://=http:///url file formats
