I've been thinking this through, and theoretically, if done properly couldn't this ultimately be profitiable for everybody if it perpetuated forever?
Pyramid scheme >
You pay $2 (instantly credited) to be added to the pyramid. $1 of that goes to the member in the "time to get paid spot", and $1 goes to the webmaster to pay hosting. Then, two more members sign up and the guy in the number one spot makes a dollar, then gets bumped off and the next in line moves up. If an unlimited number of members joined, wouldn't everyone win (yes the webmaster to haha) if the cycle never ended? Sounds fair to me =P

if members keep joining yes, though that wont happen

Yes, but if they did, it would never end...

it wouldnt grow as fast in the end though, due to the limitation of the population.

So the person on top of the list gets a dollar? Not very much worth the effort. If anything, the webmaster is the one making most of the money because technically they're ontop of the list the whole time. If considering changing the amount of money to a higher number, then you lose chances of people signing up...

Not a good idea to me.

Top person on the list gets $3, therefor making $1 for doing nothing. Webmaster always wins.

Not worth the effort. I'll skip on that one.
