I am getting close to getting my TV from Evenmore4free. I will be doing a custom order for 19-20 refs. That will get me about $1450 or so worth of TV. I am undecided whether to choose a 32" HDTV LCD or a 42" Plasma EDTV. The reasons i am hesitant of the plasmas is burn-in and lower resolution. From what i have read, the resolution of the EDTV's is nominal for normal use, and barely detectable at these sizes. But burn-in issues worry me. I would probably watch wide-screen TV about half the time, as i have digitial cable with the premiums. But i will also be playing my xbox 360 on it.
Below are the TV's i am considering. Let me know your opinions on this.

1450 is all they are giving you for 20 refs on there? anyhow my dad got a 65 in DLP2 tv optoma from frys for under 2 grand. I think there's a better deal out there then what you have found.also id wait till day afterthanksgiving. maybe just take the money and buy a tv then. You know they will be the cheapest then, so might as well wait and get a good deal

also you're right about edtv, most stations don't even broadcast above 480p right now anyhow, and at that size it's hard to notice. My dad had a 42 in plasma briefly he returned it to get the other tv i mentioned, but the edtv looked nice

Okay, I've been doing a lot of research into this too since I'm going to buy one soon. I think it all comes down to this Will you be gaming or connecting a PC to the TV? Couple of my friends bought the Panasonic flat panel for $1500 since they don't game, just watch TV & movies. Despite the lower resolution, many say it takes a good eye to be able to see the difference between the picture on a good EDTV plasma (like the Panasonic) and a HDTV. There was a big thread on SD about this. If you will be gaming or connecting a HTPC, get the LCD. Otherwise, go for the Plasma. I'm leaning towards the Sharp since I have a lot of HDTV movies, but may end up going for the Panasonic.

EDIT I just read that you'll use your xbox a lot with it. I'd get the LCD for sure.

That EDTV supporst 720p which is HDTV. The TV does not support 1080i. 1080i is pretty gay though it is interlaced so is really equivilient to 540p ).

I would resaerch on HDTV technology before you buy any TV, and the differant types of TV in depth.

The max res of that plasma is 852 x 480 so it does not really do 720p. Support just means it can take the input (it supports 1080i input too).

It's a good plasma though.

Right now, i am leaning toward the sharp LCD. I don't want to have to worry about any burn-in issues. Also, LCD's have over a double average life span.

I think i have changed my mind to this different Panasonic plasma. Still EDTV, but from what i have read, it gets an awesome picture. And it has an HDTV tuner, to boot. The more i read about burn-in, it doesn't seem to be such a big deal. If you take care of it for the first 100 hours, it should be fine after that.
