here are some of mine

U2 are over-rated
Jessica Simpson is not hot
That 70's Show is awful
Abortion should not be illegal
Football (soccer roll ) is the best sport in the world
Seasonal decorations are tacky and cheesey (with the exception of a christmas tree)

i have another one but im not sure people would understand where im coming from and would maybe take it the wrong way.

-I don't think abortion should be legal, unless there are exceptions made (in cases of incest, rape or undeniable harm to mother or fetus if carried to term).
Edit I know this sounds contradictory to the statement I made in the abortion thread, but I'm still battling the idea in my head. While I think that a government controlled mostly by men shouldn't make a decision about a woman's body, I DO believe that once a woman carries a fetus in her womb, it's no longer about her; it's about the unborn child she now carries.

Each tribe spoke a different "language". Third of all The United States of America owns this land and the official language of The UNited States of America is English. I think congas would work much better if they were for TWO refs only

yes each tribe did speak differently languages, but it was easier for me to (ignorantly) generalise their language as one (native american). they are called native american for a reason, because they are native of what is now called america. to be especially pedantic, maybe "indigenous people of the americas" (south, central and north) is a better term for them.

if everyone came from what is now africa (which i believe they did) does that mean the whole world should be called africans? "native americans" came from Siberia at least 11,000 years ago. thats pretty fuckin native if you ask me.

they have more right to this land than anyone else living in this country who isnt native american.

I can talk about other countries and governments if you want, but i choose not to because im not entirely sure how much other people on here know about other countries, other countries governments or foreign policies etc.

My view on homosexuality

I believe that homosexuality is a sin, therefore wrong. However, because my belief does not hold sins at different levels (with exception to the 7 deadly sins) it's no worse than a heterosexual couple having sex outside of marriage.

Do I think a gay couple having sex while married is ok? No, but I don't think we have the right to say they can't be married.

Homosexuality, sexual intercourse outside of marriage, and adultery are ALL forms of sexual immorality in my faith.

Do I know everything about my faith to stand up to weird questions that I'll probably be asked? Nope, but I'm not perfect. )

And to add a bit of sick, twisted, religious-type humor....

Two Mormon students were sitting outside one of the buildings on campus here behind a sign reading, "As a Mormon about anything..." A student walks up and asks, "Is there anything I can't ask?" to which one of the Mormons replied, "No, please ask us anything."

Hmm, most of my unpopular opinions have already been stated. Here's a few more.

America needs a higher tax system so they can incorporate a national health care plan and fix the education system.

We need to take drastic steps to fix homelessness including forced relocation off of the streets and if necessary "parole officer" type social workers who make sure that these people find and keep a job. If the person in question is a pschitzo or has some other disorder they should be provided a decent place to dwell - other than a state school.

First strike military action should not be a legal option for the president. We should focus on defense and slowly remove our protection forces like our bases in Germany, Korea and our fleet in Taiwan... of course we should ensure that a war is not going to break out first.

FDA needs to make laws that ensure unhealthy food can not be made. Apparently human willpower is not enough to keep us from eating junk food 10 times a day so the gov't needs to step in.

This is my most important concern and probably the most unpopular because it's a facist view. The government needs to regulate how many children people have. Abortion should not only be legal it should be used like in China to keep those who can't afford children from having children. Of course this will never happen in such a god loving country but I guarantee it would solve many social problems.

Last but not least... there is no god, stop making war in his name.

i do agree with the junk food idea as well. just go to a typical grocery store (kroger, tom thumb, wal-mart, target) and look at the audience or shoppers there. then go down the street to a whole foods market and look at the shoppers there. the shoppers at the whole foods market will weigh about half as much as the shoppers at the other store. there is also less electric fatass carts/cars/bumpercars at the whole foods market.

also, why do some of you care so much about gay people having sex? how does that concern you in any way? it's not like they are bothering you and constantly asking for your approval. they already have society's approval. just get the fuck over it.

another thing, the ten commandments should be removed from the steps of the courthouse. only like 2 of the commandments are actual laws. sure it is part of american history but so is slavery.

Junk food will never go away because it is much more profitable than regular, nutritious and unprocessed food. There is way too much shitty food out there and something should be done about it.

most girls dont like backdoor entry. however, i read in men's health or something that girls that do that pledge of abstinence thing are 6 times more likely to do oral sex and 4 times more likely to do anal, and that was coming from a girl editor of the magazine. i am sure that research was pretty biased though.

I disagree. Christianity is a big part of our history, and our nation is still majority christian. America was founded on religious freedom of christianity. If you are not a christian just do not worry about it. Prayer in school, and moments of silence should be outlawed though. And prayer at games etc... Everything that can influence are kids, but grown adults are not influenced by a ten commandments or prayer in congress. I am agnostic, and so are most of my friends.

I live in the most anti-gay community. And the #1 argument I hear about gays that is not related to the bible is that it leads to a degrade of society. Or is one of the signs of a degrade. Anyone ever heard of the Greek and Roman Empire?

It was probably illegal but my high school would always have a prayer after a pep ralley. Of course I went to Southlake Carroll and if any Texans follow high school football they'll know high school football means a lot to these people. I just always found it silly that people would pray for a silly thing like football.

I'm also against prayer/moments of silence in school. I don't mind the ten commandments at a courthouse but I would love to see the code of Hammurabi and some other ancient law structures at other court houses.

I live in a suburb next to Texas City where the huge football prayer thing was going on at games. A huge supreme court ruling said it was illegal.

I'm not necessarily saying that there NEEDS to be a moment of silence. I just don't think there's anything wrong with it...

I'm not religious in the slightest bit and I thought it was a nice why to start the morning. So much ruckus in the hallways and then a moment of silence let you relax. Even if it was just for those few seconds.
