I have eMule downloaded. It's crazy weird. I've found some stuff on there that I can't find on LimeWire, but it doesn't seem to download or takes forever to download with slow speeds.

I'd stick to LimeWire, or torrents.

Why do you people steal music? You get free money for christs sake... No disrespect TSJ, but I'm not feelin' you right now.

If it helps you sleep better at night, I don't download music from P2P.

It does )
As long as you don't pirate music or operating systems, then you're cool in my book.

Oh, those and stealing Sattelite TV.

Go ahead with games though, I don't have any interest =P

I download performances I like watching over and over. Episodes of shows that I missed. I have a satellite that we pay for, but we don't have Tivo. We don't watch enough TV for that.

And I don't play many games. If I do, I go to pogo.com.

Being so out of the P2P game myself, can you recommend a way of downloading Radiohead's appearance on Saturday Night Live a few years ago? They did Ideoteque and The National Anthem live...I used to be able to find those videos in no time flat, and now I'm so clueless I can't find 'em.

I did a search for it on LimeWire, and only got a partial video. I found the mp3's though.

Let's not steal TSJ's thread and help him out. )

emule sucks, it runs just like edonkey2000(currently the most downloaded and used p2p app worldwide) because of this, you can find any file. i mean anything. emule is pretty good, btu edonkey is better. theres diff types of emules(open source) soo i don't know which you're using.

Emule OWNS YOU ALL i use that shit all the time. There are things on emule that wouldnt be able to find ANYWHERE else on the net. I cant say enough good things about it.... however The downloads are slow as hell. No matter what connection you have, you will be lucky to get 10kb/s downloading and downloads can take a long time to start. Dont use emule for your everyday bullshite use it for the ULTRA RARE programs/music you want
check your downloads Once a day and you're set

btw here is a list of methods to get Warez in order of 1337ness

P2P such as Kazaa, limewire[be4b8b48fe5]---[/be4b8b48fe5] (Un1337 but ok for the average user)
Emule[be4b8b48fe5]--- [/be4b8b48fe5] You need to have a little skill to use this one....
IRC Clients You need quite a lot of skill to use it but its FAST AS HELL depending on which bots/ people you download from (lots of opportunities to move up in certain channels and become an OP and obtain DISTRO AXXXXcess)[/sizee4b8b48fe5]
Newsgroups[be4b8b48fe5]------[/be4b8b48fe5] about as easy to use as IRC but its HELLA FAST
TOPSITES[be4b8b48fe5]----[/be4b8b48fe5] BY FAR the absolute greatest way to obtain warez. Topsites are INSANELY fast ftps with GIGS UPON GIGS UPON GIGS of content. Access is only given to the upper echelons of warez world
many IRC ops have access to these....

Ive used all of them if you couldnt tell by now and my favorites are emule and IRC D

well 1st off, i didnt say anything about downloading music, but to put your mind at ease it wasnt music she was looking for.

thank you, that helped actually. the reason she couldnt get it to work is because port forwarding wasnt enabled on my router, so i enabled that and it worked. download was slow as shit and a 35Mb file was going to take 2 and a half days to download......it wasnt worth it at all.

ill have a look into IRC but is there anything i need to know to use it? im about as 1337 as fish so id appreciate any tips wink

[quote436bb935e0="KeithA"]TSJ, what exactly does she want to DL?[/quote436bb935e0]

she was looking for some games, she found them and started to download, but like i said above, 2 days for a 35Mb file just wasnt worth it, so we just uninstalled it.

The time estimates for downloads in eMule are very innacurate in most cases. Usually when downloading a 200-300mb file with a decent amount of sources, I usually leave it on overnight, and it is always done when I wake up.

I've had issues with Limewire. Everytime I install it, a few days later I get a fatal error caused by driver problems. I've installed Limewire twice, happened after each time.
