Promosquad.com
Hey everyone.
I'm sure some of you have heard about Promosquad.com, and some might not have. They offer free stuff (only to US residents) and you get to hear upcoming bands, artists, etc, before they're released.
Basically, you sign up for the site and listen to the Jukebox. It plays clips of an upcoming artist or song, and you rate how you like it. The ratings determine what kind of music people are currently in to, and if they'll even release the artist or song.
It's pretty cool. They give you 5 points for each song, but sometimes give 7 points as a promotion or something. Then you can get prizes off the "Prize store." I got a couple of DVD's, CD's, and my Rolling Stone year subscription.

I made some calculations it's 2 min per song and you need 5000 songs to get the dvd. that's 10,000 minutes which is 50 hours. If you do it for 2 hrs a day thats 25 days. 3 it's 17, 4 it's 13, and 5 it's 10
I figure it'll take somewhere between 2-3 weeks to finish.
i've already switched to muting the music too. It makes the whole process much easier

Yeah, do the surveys. Do the "fame gauge," that will score you loads of points. Also, make sure you check for when they send out "7 points per song!" e-mails. I got a COLDPLAY cd, a couple of DVD's, and my Rolling Stone subscription. )

Yeah. They change all their prizes every week. I think on Thursday nights or something. Not sure. They change all of their gifts and re-stock on the most popular ones.

This site is great, it had my favorite (and only station that I listen to) listed and the "suggested picks" were right on the money for my tastes. I actually enjoy the music they're playing, and I'm getting prizes for it )

I decided to mute it, and write "IS IT BECAUSE I'M WHITE" in all the comment fields every so often (I check every 3 minutes or so)
Yeah, it's a great website. I'm surprised so many of you haven't heard of it. And when you rate songs, it won't tell you the artists name so there is no favoritism (sp?). If you look at your cookies, that's how you'll see the artist. Also, this site is meant to be used when you're browsing the web and all. If feels like time is being consumed if you just sit there waiting for the song to end. Haha!

I'm pretty sure you didn't see Dave Matthews twice. When the gauge stops loading, it means you've rated all the artists for the week. Or sometimes it actually does get stuck. Close the window and open it again. If nothing loads, then like I said, you're done with that for the week.
If you have any other complaints, I suggest not using the site at all. roll

They put out new songs every day. There is a shit load of songs on there, I can never finish. Sometimes there might be less songs in one day and more on the other. They tend to switch everything around so that every artist gets a good amount of exposure. But yes, the Jukebox gets you a lot of points. Especially if it's during the "7 points per son" time.

I think you keep the extra 1500. Alot of people have redeemed their points and they have points left. I read on their message boards under prizes .

Same with the Jukebox. Sometimes it'll actually tell you, "You've rated all the songs we currently have for you right now! Please come back in a couple of hours to check if there are more." Or something along those lines.

Yeah I can listen to christian songs, but country maybe not. The prizes are almost the same in the way that there are dvds and cds or watever. I max out promo so Im doing christian and hopefully by then the promo will have more gauge or songs otherwise id have to go to country. =P I dont even dl mp3s anymore I just listen to the jukebox as if it were a radio.

I've found the christians song nicer to listen to than the jukebox on promosquad, and more of them are good.
Here's a fourth edit TAKE A LOOK AT THIS, christian site has a digital camera for 5000 points with movie mode, unsure of quality but best prize i've seen.

What's with the sarcasm? I actually do tend to listen to the music they play because sometimes I'm familiar with the artist and like knowing which song they're testing for a new single.

You usually run out of songs to play after the second week and it takes a week for them to reload more new songs.
